I used to have a guy, but now he's gone so I'm trying to get it done myself. Any help would be appreciated. Budgeting this at ~1k excluding the non-essential bits or software.

Change the CPU to an i5 2500k and the motherboard to a Z77. And knock down the PSU to 600w.

You could probably get away with a lesser PSU to put funds into other components.

Looks good but if you plan on OCing might want to get an unlocked CPU, the one you have won't overclock plus knock the PSU down a bit, 750W could just about power a Crossfire or SLI rig.

waste of money. Just get an Alienware which can max all games on ultra. Plus it has a cool Alien logo.

There's a paradox here, it's a waste of money to get anything other than an Alienware but Alienware's are a waste of money... So by taking jakes advise you should not spend any money or any computer or component as according to him it's the best way to get a new PC... by not getting one. Which isn't the best way to get a new PC but if you do get one don't get an Alienware or build a PC because both are a waste of money but you can't not buy a new PC because that's not spending your money and is in itself a waste of money... mind = blown!

Yeah for like 3x the price, and sup par graphics. GTFO you are useless. TC do what the others said, drop the PSU down a notch, get an i5 2500k.

Thanks all, just placed the order recently, final specs changes:

Intel i5 2500k

MSI Z77

Radeon 7950

PSU is 650w, figured I'd just buy a new PC instead going xfire/SLI in the future.

120GB Intel SSD

I can never tell if you're being serious or not when you say this, but i will agree with you on one thing.... that Alien logo is pretty damn cool.

Looks good. Just change parts when needed. At least this is what I plan to do.
