How many expansions do you think they will make for it over the life of the product?

Judging from the Sims, as many as they possibly can.

Exactly what they're doing with the sims. the reason it's taken eight years is because they're developing the entire game, then chopping off all the good parts for later expansions. The Spore we will get on the September 7 will not be very good. Revolutionary, but not good. In ten years, after 132 expansions, it will be great. But then they'll stop supporting it and release Spore 2 and Spore Online.

That's along the lines of what I'm thinking, and the precedent they have established with The Sims and The Sims 2 is a reason I will be very reluctant to buy this game, assuming it is even good.

If they release expansion packs that allow my spore creatures to buy things from IKEA, i think i will shoot someone.

As long as the expansions have good, meaningful content then i'm all for it, but with the rate that the sims 2 ones have been going, I'm not getting my hopes us!

they are going to milk it pretty badly as EA has invested in it heavily and I think they are not only going to milk by releasing countless expansions. I think they would charge for stuff like extra creature parts and other extras, merchandise based on your creatures like T-shirts which your creature on it, your creature models etc and maybe other stuff like chraging you for server space etc

I voted 3-4. I hardly think they're gonna squeeze Spore's udders until they're bruised, but there will definately be a fair few expansions.

Definitly similar to what they do for the Sims. They'll probably even make Spores 2 eventually.

If the game sells good and a fanbase is created, expect expansions. EA just loves to milk their games.

I think there will be ALOT of creature parts expansions, 10+ over its lifetime and excluding that who knows.
