Why oh why this endless discussion about graphics, anyway?
Seriously, can't you people see beyond that? There is more to a game than graphics! Graphics are secondary. Accessory.
It seems to me that you are virtually incapable of immersing yourselves in the experience, in a game's world...
No offense intended, but you look more like game testers than gamers... :|

Uhm.. Correct me if I am wrong, but the year is 2010, right? Meaning, that a new standard has been set in the gaming industry, correct? If this weren't correct then no publishers, or game designers would focus on the matter all that seriously and every game would look like STALKER. The majority of gamers gaming today would like to see a more realistic approach to their gaming experience. It immerses the player into the game more than any simple "Lighting" trick can do. In order for a number 1 gaming experience to be handed you will need2 things. Great graphics in this day and age, a vast in depth story that makes keep coming back. It's not the 80's or 90's anymore, gamers expectations have risen as well as publisher expectations. If you're wanting a vast majority of gamers to regard your game on such a high level you'll need to put more effort into your graphic engine, and not hand us in some piss poor excuse. It's pathetic, and almost unamerican. Who wants to pay for this ****Almost unamerican? Oh spare me comments like that, my sides hurt from laughing!
What I was saying, and is indeed quite obvious, is that the overwhelming majority is blinkered, can't see 2 inches past their noses (can you?). They just can't figure out that there is more to a game than graphics, like I said. And they just neglect everything else (and therefore have a very, VERY poor gaming experience).
Nowadays the rule is (devs speaking): "let's improve everything related to graphics! All our efforts must be concentrated on that if we are to survive in this market war! Everything else is secondary, let's pretend there is a story behind this game: after all, the so-called gamers don't care and they will swallow anything we throw at them".
And you know what? They are right. The expectations haven't risen: they have lowered! Greatly! And with them, the standards.
I miss the days where the lack of graphics technology was compensated by great and sincere efforts towards the overall quality of the titles.
