STALKER: fps, performance and max settings?

Ive tried to search everywhere and I cant find the user created mod that supposedly fixes the fps for stalker. Unless of course my pc aint up to running it but judging what I have read so far on these forums, I shouldnt have a problem.

My rig is as follows: E6600 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz, NVIDIA 8800GTS 320MB, ASUS P5N32-SLI Motherboard, 2GB P-6300 DDR2 Ram, Vista Home Premium 64 and running with a 19" lcd monitor at 1280x1024.

When I run it with full hdr my frame rate drops quite low even if I lower all the other settings. I heard that there was a performance patch or something. The latest patch i downloaded was v1.003. I don'tknow what to do, it would be such a shame to not be able to play this game on full graphics.

Can anyone provide help or a link?

You should be getting really high FPS with that rig. I got a 7600gs oced to 540/420, 2gigs of ddr1 ram, p4 3Ghz and I run at medium with some AA and object dynamic lighting with 30+ fps easily.

My rig... EVGA nForce 680i SLi, PQI Turbo 2gig ram, 8800GTX, Core2Duo 6600, Raptor 74gb hdd, X-Fi Blaster

It still chunks every now and then, it's got stability issues, also some serious gameplay issues. Pisses me off, it could have been a fantastic game but it's got so many damn bugs; they're already making an expansion and they still haven't fixed the bugs in the first. BIG NO NO in my book!

I have almost the same exact system, except I have XP Pro. I play the game on all high settings and it runs great. My guess is that Vista is giving you issues.dnuggs40

Strange...I have the same system as well with Vista 32 and it runs beautifully. I've been playing thru the game on max settings and it hasn't bothered me at all. It seems everyone has a completely different experience with this games performance no matter what system their running. I personally love the game and can't wait for the expansion.

i think it could be the 64bit OS, most software now doesnt properly support it. that could be your problem, unfortunatly only way to fix that is to wait till a patch comes along

It is really bad with 64 bit OS's. On XP pro i get a steady 35-40 maxed out. But i have Float 32 mod

Stalker is really pissing me off, it runs stable, but I have extreme fps spikes when I play the game, I run fraps and i have literaly gone from having 100+ fps to under 20 just like that. I have the latest patch, the float32 mod, and a system that should have no problem with it:

evga 680i mobo

evga 8800GTX 768mb

Core 2 duo e6700 oc'ed to 3.1 ghz

1 gb ram ( this may be a problem zone so im getting a second)

I run 32bit Winxp pro, and the funny thing with this game is that i can be getting 70-100 fps during a firefight, and then just walking around the frame rate spikes to below 20, It seems like the game was optimized terribly.
