It intrigues me. I've never liked the original Starcraft's gameplay a whole lot, and while SC2 looks like it might be more similar than I would care for, it does also look like it will have enough modern styles and advancements to make me like it more than the original. The main thing I want at this point is to be able to select more than 12 units at a time. I know that was to discourage you from making large armies, but 12 is too restricted for me, I often couldn't even make what felt like a proper tactical group.
The other thing I really want changed is the Terran music. It got stuck in my head, sure, but it sounded like some crap from the 80's or something with all those cheesy synths. :P Maybe just keep the same tunes, but change the instruments?
In any case, the new units do look really cool. I'm looking forward to seeing what they've done with the Zerg, they haven't shown anything yet.
I agree with you russel, but it wasn't that bad if you utilized ctrl- number so you make squads, that even made for more strategey, now I think you can select 24+ units.Starcraft012694
I did utilize the grouping function, it just got annoying do have do this anytime I made a big army and moved it around:
Press 1, click to move, press 2, click to move, press 3, click to move, press 4, click to move, press 5...
24 units? That would be sublime.
I'm looking forward to pick up Starcraft 2, but I just hope I can have enough time to finish the original before its released. I can't count the number of times i've started the campaign mode and given up halfway through the terran missions to play other games I have.Land-0-Funk
Are you doing that for the story? I tried to do that as well and just could not bare it, SC's gameplay is normally not my cup of tea, but the campaigns just feel particularly bad. So, I turned on god mode to make all my units invincible and just went through the levels blasting everything to get an idea of the story (I didn't just use the level skip cheat because sometimes levels have little quips and conversations in the levels themselves).

Power Overwhelming! LOL
All your base are belong to us! Muahahaha
Anyway, i hope in SC2 it's time for terran's true victory since in the original it was protoss' victory and in brood war obviusly the zerg.

I'm just trying to familiarize myself with the gameplay again (Starcraft and Warcraft are the only RTS games I've ever played extensively) I also have never enjoyed to multiplayer aspect of the games even though I know thats one of the main reasons everyone enjoys them. Good advice though on the cheat codes..I'll look into using them on the final misions of the campaign.

That would be pretty cool. Maybe the new Thor will be their trump card in the war or something. However, I sense another Zerg emphasis here. The way they're saving revealing any of the Zerg content for last and all just feels like they're trying to create a drumroll effect for them.
