They should just release exact numbers already, so it would put all these "PC games don't sell" rumors to rest.

Or could it be that the numbers aren't as impressive as we've been lead to believe..? :o

Im glad Steam is having good sales as that means a profit for the publishers regardless of where its coming from. I still however will never buy a game off steam and continue to purchase the hard copys. My preference and if they ever stopped making hard copys I would stop purchasing games.

Steam is the best thing in PC gaming. The only thing that it doesn't have is some titles like Microsoft's (Halo and Gears of War)

Now now come on guys we all know PC gaming is dying  this is excellent news and proof of what is really happening. A simple thing for game publishers to remember, if you want your game to sell then put it on Steam.

No so impressive once you realise the last quarter was full of cheap games and unbelievable offers. That's when they got most their traffic and new accounts too.

gamestop doesn't make money off of pc, they cant rip people off selling used games for $5 less. They also cant accept a trade of three to four games for one game (which usually will be a used game).

Thats really irrelevant, growth is growth period. It really helps the publishers keep the price down when there are no console license fees, no second hand game sales, no packaging, and free advertising.

just what he said, at the same time microsoft hasn't published a pc game since 07. It seems for some unknown reason microsoft doesn't want to push pc gaming anymore, or when they do they push stupid things like gfwl.

I'd agree with you, but in this case "growth" isn't really growth. If they had constant sales then yeah that would mean "a lot" but those sales aren't nearly as high considering the burst of sales in December (only, December). Digital sales are rising, but it isn't at this pace, far from it. Having lots of sales in one month because of extremely low prices doesn't mean that people adopted DD.

I get all my games by Steam. If its not on Steam I don't get it, because I move around a lot and end up losing disks. This way I don't.

I only have one game that is not on Steam and thats WoW. But that is linked to a account and can be downloaded by a client so its the same thing.

Steam is the future of PC gaming wether you like it or not!!
