Steam support

Apologies if this is the wrong board for this kind of thing.

Has anyone here had problems with Steam Support?

I ask because I bought a copy of Empire Total War yesterday and received a message saying the CD key was a duplicate. After some semi-quick response, I was able to provide the prrof pf purchase and photo of my CD.
However now, conversation has stopped and they're not getting back to me.

Are 24 hour lapses in communication normal on Steam, or are they trying to gyp me outta my game?

Yeah someone tried to hijack my account way back when and it took a couple of says to sort it out. They are kind of slow, but they will get back to you. Kind of sucks when you're waiting to play something though. I had just bought Left 4 Dead at the time and I was going crazy waiting for them to unlock my account...

Well i know that somepeople take cd keys from game boxes in stores, so some one could have do this.
