Even if Mac's game library dramatically increases and even somehow manages to match Windows' one day, it won't change the core reason why gaming on a Mac is a bad idea: the hardware. It's highly overpriced, limited, and doesn't optimize for games as well as Windows. What Apple should do is lower prices on some of the high performance models and allow for more user customization.
That's just how I think anyways. I'm sure plenty of Mac users will be taking advantage of Steam and playing games, but for someone who's been gaming on a PC for a long time, it's just not a very viable option.
