looking for a 1440p monitor, preferably 120hz and 27". dont care about gsync.
not interested in the ROG Swift or any other 800 dollar monitor, so those are definitely out. willing to spend around 400-500 or so.
thanks in advance

Qnix QX2710 is the cheapest I believe, and a great one, several users here have one and love it, myself included. This one is the glossy model but they have semi-glossy and matte as well but those are $300-330, I have the matte version for reduced glare.
Edit: Note that (in my experience) you may need an aftermarket gold-plated DVI-D cable to achieve 120Hz OC, stock cable couldn't get me to 120Hz without flickering.
i have seen those.... but amazon only offers one model via PRIME, and the ones on ebay ship from korea.
im not sure i wanna deal with the hassle of possibly having to return something to korea or customs processing holding my delivery for potentially months....

that one does look nice though.... but i noticed all they have is a DVI connection? no HDMI? that might be a deal breaker because i was considering hooking up my PS4 to it as well.
Would recommend keeping a 1080p display for your PS4. Upscaling to 1440p makes it look a little blurry. They have DVI because you need a dual link DVI cable to drive 1440p 60hz. Usually won't see other connections because of that.
Those korean 1440p are good stuff, even the cheap refurb ones that you can find for 180ish on ebay. A friend picked up a Crossover Q27 earlier this year and he's been in love with it since. Monoprice has one for about $350 and they ship from USA.

isnt 8ms response time pretty high for a gaming monitor? most people i have talked to say you want under 5ms or there is going to be ghosting
@goodkingmog: Mine shipped from Korea too, packaging is good so little to worry about shipping damage but I see your point. This is the exact model I got, it does have an HDMI connection and I (seldomly) play my Xbox 360 on it and its 4ms.
how is the backlight bleed? been looking at a lot of these now and most people complain that it is horrible.
