I'm just trying to get into PC gaming more seriously, and was wondering if you guys could recommend some good PC games for my laptop. I already have Civ IV and BTS and I plan on getting The Sims 3. I'm just curious as to what kinds of games I'd be capable of running on my laptop. My specs are as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 ghz with 1033 mhz bus speed

4 gb ram

Nvidia GeForce 9600m GT - 512 mb

I'm particularly interested in RPGs (The Witcher?) and strategy games but am open to games of any genre. Thanks for the help.

indeed there are too many to list OP you can effectively handle most two bit terror rpg's for the pc atm (mainly because most rpg like that dont require alot of demanding specs.)

Strategy: Company of Heroes (+ all expansions) Starcraft Command And Conquer: Red Alert 3 Sins of a Solar Empire (if not just for how BEAUTIFUL everything looks. Make no mistake tho: its AMAZING strategy gameplay) FPS: Counter Strike: Source Left 4 Dead Half-Life 1 + 2 (and episodes 1 and 2, and when 3 comes out) Crysis (your rig should run it okay on High settings, decent resolution - the expansion, Warhead, is way better optimized and should run really smooth) Call of Duty 4

Yep, Company of Heroes is a must play for RTS. Also, get the expansion Opposing Fronts.

Also, I recommend the first Dawn of War and all expansions to the game, especially Dark Crusade.

Oh...and yes, The Witcher is a very good RPG to pick up.

First and foremost, the oragen box. It's pure FPS (first person shooter), but it's a nice spread of titles (from the more story oriented Half-Life 2, and its "sequels", to the puzzle solving Portal, finishing with the top notch multiplayer focused Team Fortress 2). It will give you a decent bit of FPS variety for a killer price.

Well I already have the Orange Box on 360, but I'm thinking about picking it up again just so I can actually enjoy TF2. The Xbox community sucks, but I'm getting the impression from looking around these forums that it has a lot of dedicated players on PC.
