I was just wondering if I need a certain part/parts for surge protection.

Do I need it??? What one would you recommend? (I need to buy it off PC Case Gear and is their a inexpensive option?)

all you need is the surge protector itself. all comes down to how many outlets you need normally the smallest ones have four or six outlets. the cheapest option is normally fine

If you actually want protection, then you'll want to buy a nice unit.

Tells you what to look for.

Personally I recommend Tripp Lite, it's what I use and they offer a 50k$ lifetime warranty against damage.

A transformer blew near my house last summer and took out my surge suppressor, but my computer made it. They sent me a new unit for free.
