Anyone know if there is any news of a new SWAT game in the works ?
I'm a big fan of the series but its been quite a while since the SWAT 4.

Loved Swat4. Not sure I want Swat5 though, its bound to be some dumbed down simple shooter.

I would wet my pants with excitement if SWAT 5 was announced. The multiplayer on SWAT 4 is for me the best competitive multiplayer I've come across to this day.

I hope that's Irrational's next project after Bioshock.

I would love another SWAT game, as long as it stuck to the tactical, more simulation-type gameplay.

Sadly, though, I haven't heard anything either. And the post above me doesn't give much hope.

SWAT4 was great, but I felt it took many steps backwards from SWAT3.

I love Irrational, but I don't feel like the SWAT series is their thing after seeing what magic they can do with Bioshock.

Does 3 still run okay on W7? I had no issues with my XP machine, but I'd like to know if searching for my disc is worth it. :P

I don't think we'll see games like SWAT 3 and 4 any more. If they did make a SWAT 5, they'd probably do the same thing as they did with the Rainbow Six series, and make it like Rainbow Six: Vegas. :/

Meh, the Tactical FPS genre needs some love imo. I know the trend is to keep streamlining stuff and make brickheads happy, but really...I hope Ghost Recon will deliver.

I have W7 32 bit and 64bit

It runs great on the 32bit. Never tried it on the 64bit though.

Probably not unfortunately or it will just turn into a consolized version where it bares no resemblance to any of the past games.

That would be quite concerning actually. The formula of SWAT was always effeicent.

You could forget about the new Ghost Recon being a good tactical shooter. UBI just wants to cash in on all the little kiddies. I still play Ghost Recon 1 (the only good one)

I did like the Swat games but found the enemy AI to be alot better in the old Rainbow 6 games (Raven Shield and earlier), Ghost Recon 1 and Operation Flashpoint:CWC/Arma2.
