I got an M2N32-Sli Deluxe but it only supports AMD CPUs and Intel beats the crap out of anything AMD has...

Will a 590 Sli motherboard support an AMD quad cpu? if not I'll just buy a motherboard that supports C2D

No way I'd recommend you jump off the AM2 platform for Core 2 Duo - yes, Core 2 Duo outperforms similarly priced Athlon/Opteron processors, but you've still got a very viable system. As for your motherboard supporting quad-core AMD offerings, it should, if AMD follows through on its promise. Stick with your motherboard for right now - you're in great shape, you've got a lot of options, and there's no need to switch every single time something happens in the hardware world.
