You can't play TF2 "not on Steam" - I downloaded it again a couple days ago and I dl 7.6 gb. I'm not sure how much of that data is on the retail disc, but if I recall, it isn't a lot.Thinking of getting TF2 and was wonderin if i bought it retail by it self NOT ON Steam how many mb of updates would of i have to download before i was able to play online.
Thanks

i meant not buying it off steam and downloading the game and so all the updates are likea couple of GB?Shadowhawk000that's probably a good guess, maybe someone else who bought the retail disc can tell you for sure
Why? The updates add in all kinds of things like new weapons, new taunts, new audio, new maps (close to a dozen, I think), and new game modes.
Just install the game and let it update overnight.
hmmm i dunno as if was goign to buy it retial it would be about 50 bucks so....nd how would i know hich were the downloaded files?Shadowhawk000
It's not $50, the orange box is $40, and tf2 alone is $20
ffs i only got a 10gb downlaod limit and i dont wanna have to waste 2gb of it on a update.

yes, when I was building my new comp in march, I did that with the steam folder to save some time and it worked.
