I was looking at an iMac. It's $1200 dollars.

-4GB DDR3 ram

-3.06 ghz core i3

-500gb 7200HDD

-ATI Radeon HD 4670

The thing I actually like most is the gorgeous screen display so....

Where can I buy the best PC + screen that rivals the imacs for $1200?

Thank you!

You never really told us the size of the screen... In terms of a computer specs, the specs of the box could be beaten very easily for $800, and then spend $400 on a really nice IPS panel monitor. Just after a really quick search.... However, I would probably do more digging to find a better deal or build myself.

Wow, anyone who spends $1200 on that is completely ignorant and doesn't do their research before buying.

You could build a PC with two latest generation Video Cards, double the ram, latest generation processor, double the HD size & additional HD, and have a better motherboard, PSU, case, & blue ray burner than what that mac is giving you.

They're charging $1200 for that!? It's a damn shame that Apple can get away with this and still sell a ton of these.

Hell, Best buy in todays ad had a better comp for $1200. 20" monitor 1 tb HD, 8gbRAM Radeon 5770, forget the cpu. Still though, and they usually throw in a free printer.

You want a pre built? You can make a crazy overkill rig for 1200 if you build it yourself.

Exactly. I can't believe you guys that quoted him didn't see that... And it's 1080p only. Go for 1920x1200 res native, at the very least.

*facepalms* Go read up on TFT technologies before you make a comment like this. Only TN panels can manage those low response times and they have poor color reproduction.

Exactly people are forgetting that monitor is an ips panel not some cheap tn panel.

You make it sound like its a big deal and that 16:10 is superior to a 16:9 which is't the case. HD movies for example are filmed in a 16:9 aspect ratio so there will always be letterboxing on a 16:10 monitor but will display perfectly on a 16:9 monitor and for games with a 16:9 monitor you are able to see more at once then with a 16:10 monitor due to a wider aspect ratio. There is a loss in vertical resolution but as someone who has gone from a 16:10 24" monitor to a 16:9 32" hdtv i can honestly say i have not at all missed those extra few pixels on the top and bottom of the screen theres just not enough to make a noticeable difference to me and if screen real estate is so important then getting a large 30" 2560x1600 monitor or multiple monitors would be best and would actually offer a noticeable difference as opposed to the diffrence going from 1920x1080 to 1920x1200 offers.
