Acer AL2223Wd 22"

I'd get one of those instead.

I would go for NEC displays as they seem to be best for quality.

Acers are mediocre.

Samsung is decent, probably be my 2nd choice.

Acers are anything but mediocre. Samsung is the one that's slipping into mediocrity lately.

acer in my opinion is the best monitors. They allow you to safely turn up the refresh rate over what it says in windowsin games.

Mine is a Samsung Syncmaster 22" .. working very nicely since purchase in August '07.

I'd recommend one of them to ya. NEC have nice monitors too. Some big screen displays in many conventions I went to have used NEC displays; gorgeous (but not sure how their 22"s are, must be good though)

Samsung has been cutting cornersand using inferior panels from subcontractors in China and Mexico (Chimei, AU optronics) in it's 226BWs. There's a noticeable difference between these panels and those that are actually produced by Samsung. The color is off, and there's significant light bleed. Not to mention that this practice is incredibly sleazy and basically a bait and switch, as reviewers were all sent the superior Samsung panels.

yea ive heard about that. Theres a certain model you have to look for to get the right one, otherwise youve got to calibrate it properly. Anyway im more than happy with my LG L226WA. Phenomenal picture as well as a good number of different connections. component, hdmi, dvi and vga.
