I see console users saying PC gaming is going to die next gen because next gen consoles are going to more popular and attract more people (funny older gen consoles sold way more then current gen :P ).

Here is what I have to say.

The steam userbase is growing every year by 5 million and more and more people are online a day on steam. Microsoft plans to integrate XBL into Windows 8 out of the boss a long with Windows 8 catering to all groups and being simple as a console (next xbox plans on using it). GOG (Good Old Games) the famous DRM FREE store plans on bring the goods to Modern Games so now gamers who don't care about Steam, Origin and all that can just download their games DRM.

AMD APUs are making PC gaming more affordable for the entry level. Even users with brandname prebuilt PCs have been surprised of what their APU can do in terms of gaming. Soon APUs in the future will be capable of more. AMD APUs also can provide users with a HTPC with great performance. APUs also have the ability where you can crossfire it with a cheap $50-$100 DX11 GPU and get even more out of it such as higher graphical settings 1080p and more.

As earlier Microsoft is now making Kinect for PC next year so yes a mainstream motion controller is now on PC, which will also boost the attention of the platform. In terms of Motion controls Kinect can be for the casuals and the Razer Hydra for the more core group. Controller support is becoming the norm for games with certain exceptions.

The F2P and MMO Market are spicing things up with games such Guild Wars 2, and FireFall. The F2P market has been gaining western developers such as Crytek, Pirahna Games, Red 5 Studios and more soon to come. Graphics, Animation, Physics

Here is a lil look of what's coming to us soon

FireFall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g9xRCxWWd0

I don't see motion gaming catching on with PC users. The mouse and keyboard is pretty much the best control scheme anyone has been able to come up with for a lot of games. Games that don't play well with M/KB usually have dedicated peripherals available that are, again, better than anything else you could come up with (HOTAS flight sticks for flight games, racing wheels and pedals, etc). Some games (namely platformers) are best used with a controller which, again, the PC already has.

I think the PC does have a bright future in gaming. 2011 was the best year for gaming on the PC in a long time. The graphics are getting better every day, and unlike consoles, you can improve your PC at any time without relying on a closed system that you have to wait for a new "gen" to come out in order to improve. With the 360 and PS3, what you see is what you get. Their power is limited. With the PC, devs and manufacturers continue to push the envelope every day, and games get better.

There are new PC-only titles out, and the online communities are generally more inviting and mature.

It's a good time for PC games. Steam has played a big part, as has the whole download market. We don't need new motion capture technology, but I'm sure somebody will figure out something cool to do with it.

I like the current gen consoles. But there is a reason I choose to maintain a gaming computer instead of being a console guy.

Ahhh Black Light, I had fun destroying on Xbox. I look forward to being destroyed on PC :P. The one thing I didn't want them to do was add mechs/vehicles.

Never played a tribes game but it looks promising. There's also a MMO FPS I'm looking forward to but forgot the name :?

Nope it's not looking bright, not more than usual, it was always bright, what you talk about there is just mindless platform wars whining. If PC gamers were as pathetic as most console kids, they'd say that every year when a new series, or generation as console gamers like to call it, of hardware gets released. The new generation of consoles might not even be on par with what PCs will have next year (that will be changed by a new line of products the year after), simply because top hardware is too expensive, they can't raise the price of consoles more than it was (around 400-500$), consoles not only limit games potential, they also limit themselves to a fix price range.

Yep, those are the bad kind of PC gamers. I can't stand people that rage about most games then say things like "heh I found my awesome game, don't need anything for the next 6 months - 1 year, I'll invest hundreds of hours into this game, everything else is just terrible", when they know next week or in the next few weeks they'll jump on other titles, even titles they swear are absolutely terrible and nobody should play them (talking about games they never played even for a minute or games that have certain problems that you can easily ignore, multiplatform titles and the likes).

Not only are PCs more powerful than consoles, but PC gamers do not need to worry about RRoDs and seemingly-endless PSN outages. Now if only we can get games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, and Mortal Kombat ported over to PCs...

Is the MMO FPS you're thinking off planetside 2?

In Blacklight if you rack up your points you can use it to buy a mech and summon it. The thing about the mech is that it can all charge in 1 direction and even if you stop the charge before it's all out of energy you need to wait for it to recharge back to 100%. Other then that it will slaughter everyone unless someone one decides to rocket launch at it or get another mech to fight it :P.

Or you can sneak up on a guy piloting one, use the flamethrower on him, turn it into a baked potato and then steal his mech from him :P.

The future will look brighter for that platform which will have the best library.

The graphics and how cheap a system is aren't important factors.

One great example is PS2 versus XBox(better graphics).

Yeh thats it! I knew it was Planet- something :P.

That sounds really coo. I also read that while in HRV you can detect random vulnerable spots for a quicker take down. Urban Warfare with si-fi tech., sign me up day!

Also if you were a fan of Shooters such as Unreal Tournament and Quake then you'll love Tribes Ascend since it is a revival of the old tribes series. It did a lot of things that neither UT and Quake did all in one game. Tribes Ascend is the type of PC shooter we've needed in a long time.

It will look brighter based on what games you, as a gamer want to play ;). PS2 had a lot of JRPG's I didn't like at all. Also it's functions. Ex. you could listen to music while gaming on xbox. The Indi great games I'm grabbing for dirt cheap, better controls with the KB/M, games mentioned above and that are about to come out. I'm not touching a console for a looong time, it at all.

Titan? Purportedly the next-gen Blizzard MMO is a FPS.

The Xbox was Microsoft's first attempt at a console and was released a year later. The fact that it managed to equal the Gamecube in sales was quite astonishing.

Ah, so thats what "Titan" will be? I'm trying to stay away from MMO's. I get too addicted and don't play any other great SP games :P. But I can bend that rule again because the videos of Planet, and what I've read about PS2 has my interest.

Nope, there's no info on Titan, believing speculations that say it's a sci-fi game is a little much, believing those that say it will be a FPS is far-fetched.
