... and less activision's

dakan45

Actually they need a bit activision, because they hardly making any games. I am stil waiting for the next half life game since 2004. If mor on the gaming industry were like valve, there wouldnt be many games outhere. Basicly we would stuck with the same games and those who did not like them, will be....bored?

And Stardock, Bioware, and on and on. See even I can agree with you once in a millinium Dakan. Even publishers like Ubisoft have a place in the market. They give you something to compare the good ones too so you can appreciate them. I like Valve but I like many publishers and game makers.

Note to Supermario; you should never put the words valve and value back to back. Not because they aren't a value but because the words hurt my eyes trying to read them like that.:)

I disagree; making extra content for free isn't anything special: Epic and some other companies did this for years. On the other hand, Valve delay the HL Episode 3 in order to ship Left 4 Dead 2 due the big sales of the first one in console.

Some of the other recent decisions from Valve seems very inconsistent, also: PS3 is a cr4p, PS3 is a cr4p, PS3 is a cr4p... wait!, PS3 with near 40 million users -which we didn't help to rise in any way- which uses a disc format not vulnerable to piracy is now great!

Looks like very hypocrite behavior to me. Anyway, I'm not interested in Valve's games, my last buy/play was in 2004 (H-L 2) and the game wasn't at the same level of H-L 1.

left 4 dead sold well on pc, why blame everything on console?

Valve certainly do know how to support their games post-release. When I look at what TF2 was like when it first launched, and what it is like today, it's almost an entirely different game. The only criticism I would level at Valve is that they could release a few more games generally, but when almost all of their catalogue are excellent games, it's a minor criticism.

Im really impressed by Valve and how they stick with their games. Just look at CSS and TF2. CSS has been out for around 4 years and its still getting maintained very well (NOT DEBATING IF THE NEW PATCH IS GOOD FOR THE GAME OR NOT). And look at TF2, any other game you would be getting charged to pay for the DLC but they release huge amounts of content for free, years after release.

Too bad there isnt a whole lot of other companys like Valve that really dedicate themselves to their games, even after release.

Valve is an awesome company that has treated me like gold over the years. I just really wish they would go back to crafting epic single player stories as opposed to Left 4 Dead style games.
