In my opinon this list seems to be very suspicious.

why is call of duty 4 towards the top. It took from battelfield 2 and dumbed it down a bit. I guess becuase BF2 wasnt for consoles. Prejudice against pc.

i have lost all respect for the guiness records coproration (or whatever it is). how did obilvion make it on there? and COD4? i'm not saying they are bad games, but COME ON. i'd have chosen splinter cell, or far cry 1 over any of those, not to say those should be on the list either. i'm babling i'm so bewildered by that list.

Did they even think when making that list or make a dart board with the nominees for the list?

Stupid list. Lots of good games missing, and Mario Kart can't be that influential...the original Mario could be.

Even if its a Console game list this has got to be on of the worst lists I have ever seen. Theirs almost no thought put into this list as all. Mario kart a number 1 is just laughable. What did Mario kart do anyway? I now fail to believe in Guiness World Records because of this stupid god awful list.

If any game should be number 1 is should be StarCraft. A damn good game that pretty much helped Korea in its time of depression. They freaking worship the damn game over their pretty much.

I guess it depends on how they are defining "influential" though. I was looking at COD4 and thinking how can the forth in the series be the influential one? But its had a big influence on online gaming I guess.

it's a matter of convention; GS PC forum is known to have plenty console trespissers. you'd have to put *PC* when discuss anything, yet trespissers would still put MGS4 in a "best PC game ever" thread. just have to get use to it.

Seems more like a popularity contest than looking at the most influential games...

Nevertheless you yet again misread my post, yes I know this is console only list but the absence of PC games is quite staggering granted it's of most importance as are console games for such a feat. In addition the order is also quite poor.

Stupid list. What is funny is how the most influential platform of all time is the PC. Almost every single great game has roots in PC. As well as full genres owing everything they are to the platform (RTS and FPS).

Can anyone actually confirm this is in the Guiness book of records? TC might've gotten the list from some less-than-reliable internet source thinking its real. Or he might've just made it up to troll about PC/console. But lets assume he's not trolling :P

This list makes so little sense I can hardly believe anyone would come up with it.

10% of those games are good and worth mentioning, and should be on better on a more notable selection. The rest are a joke.

They say "in history" yet they forget 90% of all the old games that really did make a difference. Seems to me they just threw on the ultra-modern titles with large companies behind them and big sales. Such a f-ing joke really, that list does no justice whatsoever to the HUNDREDS of fabulous PC games that have been made and loved in the past.
