I'd install/play JRPGs on my PC all day long!

Definately will check out this Demo, and see how it runs compared to 360 version!

What in the world? I hope the demo is far from what the full game will be for the people that buy this piece of garbage. No proper menu mouse controls or in game as far as I can tell and why in the world does it start windowed? Is this the stone age? *knocks over magazine racks*

Runs Good. Looks Good. Although it was different using a keyboard. Not bad at all. But I bought it on 360, so...

I just plugged in my 360 controller and it was great. It was nice to crank up all the graphics, but it still kind of looked like junk. lol

The controls are beyond frustrating. No custimization at all, no mouse support, the game doesn't even tell you the control scheme and which functions are mapped to which keys. Infact it's basically a straight port from the 360 because it'll tell you to press x or press y (which does nothing if you press the x key or y key on the keyboard) or press RB...seriously? That being said, the combat system was interesting, and the graphics while not groundbreaking were solid as was performance. I think the demo is a poor representation of the game itself, unless you have a 360 controller and don't have to worry about the ridiculous controls. I was looking forward to this game, but after playing the demo i'll probably wait for some PC version reviews.

There are black boarders with none 16:9 resolutions, poor mouse and keyboard support, texture popping when loading new environments on my PC, I swear there is background audio static but that may just be my graphics card.

Those are my negatives.

Performance seems way better than what I saw in 360 videos but does still dip at times, apparently fights are allot faster on PC, graphics are not modern but are clean looking, controls well with a 360 pad.

Overall it could have been allot better but it is sufficient if you want to play on PC, Like DMC4 I'd recommend anyone getting it get a Windows 360 pad.

Well it's the first demo that I uninstalled after 10 minutes of playing. I guess it's a reminder on how much JRPGs don't like me anymore, and also on how that feeling is mutual. It was bad enough that it looks to be poorly ported with the 360 menu interface, and poor KB+M controls, but the game itself plays like crap. Horrible movement, the townspeople in the game seem so dead, horrible combat, and it looks fugly even on its highest settings. I wouldn't even recommend pirating this game. I guess once you go western there's no going back.

I lasted about a half an hour before deleting it. I went to some cave and found a troll thing that killed all 10 of my people in one turn. Ive never been so confused in a game before.

didn't really get the point of the demo to be honest. they should've at least made a tutorial of some kind instead of dropping you in the middle of things. Still I don't get the complaints about the controls as they worked fine for me and the game runs really well.

For game controls... you DO know that you can change them in the "Settings" section on the Title Screen, right? There are five or six tabs there, just choose "controls", and you can customise them as you see fit.

Don't start whining if you haven't even given the game a chance... sure, there's no tutorial, the controls are awkward at first, but anyone who's got a bit of interest in the game could find those control settings out. Give it more than 10 minutes before you say that it's crap!

SE claims this game incorporates western RPG design elements. Have they ever played a real RPG before?

Wow. I dont know what to say to this. I mean, I remapped the keys to a PS1 dual shock controller and I even tried using the mouse and keyboard to play. I was able to find out what button does what since I went into the "settings" screen and took the time to look and read stuff.

My only gripe is that there is no tutorial w/c is standard fare for JRPGs. I'm sure the retail version will have the standard lenghty tutorial at the beginning w/c I hope can be skipped if the player chooses to.

Really good game.If you are a fan of Final Fantasy this game is for you.But they should make some kind of tutorial for people who are new to this game, because I saw from some comments that ppl are having trouble playing. This game is better played with a gamepad.I played it with a 360 gamepad and I had no trouble with the controlls. The game is not so confusing once you've spent some time playing it.Try to enter some of the areas with weaker mobs.Good luck to all!The game is awesome trust me.

I thought the demo was interesting, it reminded me of the gameplay to the Final Fantasy series. The thing I didn't like though is using the keyboard for controls. This game was obviously made for a controller.

I rather enjoyed it, the Keyboard controls were okay. It would have highly benefitted from Mouse controls though. But in the end I plugged in my sturdy USB Controller (which I have reason to believe has one of the analog sticks connected 90 degrees wrong) and after altering the controls played through it. I must say it was pretty fun, graphics are good, but not great. Performance was surprisingly good considering the settings I as running it at. I was disappointed with the battle system though. It is a LOT simpler than I thought it was going to be, and is pretty unimpressive.

I like it quite a bit. Works great with an Xbox 360 controller. My computer is not the best, but I was getting great performance with everything maxed (except for shadows in battle, I'm one noch away from high :P ). I'll be picking this up, glad I waited too. Otherwsie I would be plagued with slowdowns on the 360. :)

Before you bash the game, take the time to figure out the controls and give it a chance! OK, i just spend an hour playing around with the demo and yea it is freakin' confusing as hell. First off, it starts in windowed mode so adjust settings to get it fullscreen. while there is no mouse pointer you can use the mouse to scroll the menus. First adjust your settings and set the camera control to standard so that the camera moves when your mouse moves. All right, the game looks incredible though not as good as other UE3 games like UT3, Gears of war, mirror's edge, etc. It runs well at max as i got between 60 to 80 fps with some minor minor slowdown during battles. im using an intel cored 2 duo e6750 2.66 ghz, 2 gig ram and a geforce 9600 GT 512 vram. Anyway, if you're lost about what to do during battles, i quickly figured out everything. once the menus pop up, just choose your attacks (combat or mystic arts) or some other action (heal party) and press enter. when the 360 buttons show up, they correspond to the ARROW keys, and are basically quicktime events, you know, like spider-man 3! i haven't gotten a handle on the inventory and for a 2 gig demo, there's a lot of content. Once you reach elysium the demo ends though and it tells you the requirements of the game. this is actually my first time playing a JRPG and many of the conventions of WRPGs are still here as you'll go to towns, buy stuff, repair stuff, take on quests. etc. So all of this are universal features. There, I hope this helps people!!!

The PC demo is way way better than the 360

-improved framerate

-improved graphics

-improved animation (his standard run alone is worth picking up the PC version for)

-choice of Japanese voice over w/ english subtitles

This demo as said previously is just packed with things to do, for people that just ran around and fought one battle, you didn't really give it a fair chance, give it another shot, I did.

This is coming from someone who bought and returned the 360 version.

It actually reminded me a bit of crisis core where you don't always get to choose your exact reaction, but rather they pop when you need them. Its pretty smart.

Yea it looks to be a very nice improvement over the 360s version (which had some technical issues). I think the combat and story are underrated in this game.

Count me in when it comes out for pc, the demo was cool (and the only problem the 360 version had was the technical problems). The PC version looks to fix those problems, just like the PC version of MASS EFFECT did.

See I heard of the install fixing the issue, so I rented the game and installed disc one and gave it a second go. Not a single problem fixed. It loaded like a half second faster. PC version for the win.

The PC version looks to fix those problems, just like the PC version of MASS EFFECT did.

again i have to say this i had no problems what so ever with the 360 version install it and the slow downs are gone

The problems on the 360 version dont bother me much and yes they are almost fixed by isntalling it to the HDD, but it still did have some small technical issues. I still enjoyed the game alot on 360.

Also my comp should be able to give me much better visuals and sound then the 360 version (especially sound with my sound card). Also who knows, maybe some mods later on for it?
