The Next Battflefield Game...

I love the BF games...ever since the beta map of Wake Island in 1942.

What do you people think should be the next game in this great series?

I used to play a game called World War II online about 5 or 6 years ago.  It was VERY bugy at first but the few moments I got to play was fun.  WWII online seems to be doing fine at www.wwiionline.com.

But I think DICE should "borrrow" this idea for there next game and do some kind of persistent online battle game, maybe even go back to WWII and make a game where its all one world and every battle "won" means something.

I was more interested in seeing what you guys thought would be a good idea as far as the next game would be in the PC seres.

I think a Battlefield game with the theme being The USA civil war would be nice. WWI could also be a theme. Would be awsome to see the PC use strategies like they did on the war.DestroyerRox

i can see it now...  2 minutes to reload your inaccurate musket...  attempt to move from the line and get shot by your cmding officer or kick/banned.  bayonets that never get used.  fun.

i'd love to see vietnam done right for once with heavy infantry focus, using a modified cryengine2 and bringing the chopper mechanics from desert combat.  you can call in arty & air strikes, but no user-controlled jets.

Dude, go play the battlegrounds Mod for HL1 and Hl2..It takes 10 seconds to reload your musket...I think 10 seconds to reload would be fine. Theres also pistols aswell, and btw, if there were swords they would be used alot. Back then it was mostly hand to hand combat.

I think it will be in space, kinda like a Star Wars type of thing, and siege ships and what not

they will never make a civil war bf since its not action packed,

Everyone stand in a line and shoot then take a long time to reload and repeat! that may somehow be fun for some people but definately not for me, or at least no  more than 30 minutes of fun.

Battlefield: 9042-BC

Sweet. 

Battlefield: Ancient would be kind of cool. Catapults instead of arty, HORSES instead of jeeps, Chariots instead of tanks, triremes, walls, etc.

Classes: Spearman (AT), Swordsman (Assault), Bowman (Sniper), Pyro (Engineer), Priest (Medic).

Dude Battlefield 2142 is freaking lame as hell so is the expansion pack. They should just continue BF2 and be more detailed like UAV that would be cool.Wezker619

Good suggestions here.  Ya I would'nt mind playing a "muskeet" era battfield game, though it probably would'nt be everybodys cup of tea.

I truly think the should do a WWI game, there were a lot of cool weapons back then, lots of variety.

vehicules include Horses,Horses with carages(and a whole on top for archers to shoot, Small single passanger boats

Weapons

Knife,bow,old rifles, old shot guns,Bear traps.Pits of spiked lumber,revolvers etc etc etc

thats would actually be fun never played a FPS with a bow(i think maybe turok)

Haven't you tried Battlefield Pirates mod for BF42? It's great.

I think a civil war would be a good game/mod. I mean, I have fun palying Battleground 2 (HL2 mod) and I'm sure EA could make it alot better into an actual game. But I'm pretty sure that only 5% of people will agree with me that it could be fun.

But besides that I think they should just remake bf1942 with today's graphic engine because none of the other battlefield games have come close to being as fun as this one imo.

Its singleplayer!! Seriously, all console BF games are proper **** I will not be suprised if this shares the same fate.

After the bad experience with BF2, I mean come on how is the server browser still broken, why do I need to have a CDROM in the drive when I need to use an account to log. DICE.EA focus on always making new content and fixing a minimum of bugs has just turned me off their products. So Quake Wars is my next BF game.BigD
