6th place is shared between ARMA 2 and Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2

Here goes:
A: Prototype
B: The Saboteur
C: X Men Origins: Wolverine.
These, in my opinion, are the MOST entertaining games of this year. (...I played so far...) -- Batman Arkham Asylum it's too short, but still good, though I replaced it with The Saboteur.
i would say 1. ARMA 2 (but i'm directly involved)... so i guess that' don't count:)DwardenAnd yet presumably it does count that you rated it 9.5.
Gamespot's GOTY 2009 is Demon's Souls on PS3. Surprising? Kind of. Honestly, I never even heard of the game before. I guess I am not the only one since nobody here mentioned the game even once. Did I expect a PC game to win GS GOTY? Certainly not. After all, this was a relatively poor year (decade?) for PC gaming with the biggest titles being multiplatform games. Not that I have anything against multiplatform games (I am happy finally getting games like SF4) but the winner titles are typically exclusives.
No surprises on the PC end. We got the game right, Dragon Age: Origins, with anoverwhelming majority. The top 3 being an average of all votes, not a lot of people got the order right; in fact only Levrar did. Congrats!

Honorable mentions to Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Torchlight, who also made it to the top 6.

There were some good, ableit small, PC exclusives this year...

C'mon man. It was a good year, okay at worst. Certainly not poor.
Would have love to contribute, but unfortunately, many of my favorites this year are from 2008 and under, with the exception of Torchlight and Trine I guess. Look forward to playing the voted games next year, especially Dragons Age.
I was only being humorous with Aion as GOTY, though the new update for next year looks marvelous.
i'm glad that Demon's Souls clinched the ultimate title this year. surprising, perhaps ( i expected Uncharted 2 to win ), but totally deserved. good job, From Software. :)
1. BATMAN AA
2. STREET FIGHTER 4
3. RESIDENT EVIL 5
ALL THE ABOVE NEED IMPOVEMENT THOUGHT. THERE ARE SOME ELEMENTS ON THESE GAMES THAT SHOULD BE FIXED.
BATMAN (CROC STAGE WAS REPETITIVE, LONGAND BORING)
SF4 (NO GOOD CHARACTER STORIES)
RE5 (WHAT ABOUT WALKING AND SHOOTING. CONTROLS NEED SOME WORK. INVENTORY SYSTEM NEEDS SOME WORK.
