The problem is the same old tired genres/games with hardly any new. I haven't turn on my desktop in weeks due to I much rather will play a game like World of Warcraft on my laptop. Highest selling games of all time were Tetris, Wii Sports, Super Mario bros and Super Mario World, Pokemon and many more that all were either new or perfectly crafted with new. This point on I'm not buying just any other game, rather spending in areas where the total package is marvelous. Demos will help make decisions, but for the most part the ideology of it is hardly penetrating our platform. Tired of buying games where I complete and it sits and gather dust. Hello Nintendo and other developers that takes time to craft a marvel then the same ol' badly crafted rehash. Tired of having remorse for a game to at least enjoy it, not happening anymore(Crysis, UT3, Oblivion, Bioshock ect ..)

Completely agree with you, and I've definitely noticed over the last couple years that it's very rare for me to play through a game more than once. Although it wasn't always like that, I still remember playing through games like Morrowind, Metal Gear Solid, and a few other older games multiple times. Right now the only newer game that is keeping my interest is surprisingly Fallout 3. (Lets just say it's holding onto my interest a lot longer than Oblivion did) I'm currently on my third character. The majority of it's re-playability comes through with the mods though, which is a little unfortunate because without them I think this game would be gathering dust just like the rest of my single player games. In my opinion, I blame the technological advances with graphics and such. *Most* developers seem to want to focus on making the game look better, rather than play better these days.

Certainly agreed bud. I mean I much rather developers achieve great gameplay where really all the man hours should go into, but in this day in age graphics sell however. This will always be an issue so in regards I guess it's my decision in how I buy my games from this point on.

This.

I haven't purchased a game at full price since The Orange Box back in 07. I agree most Devs seem to favor graphics over gameplay, I haven't been able to replay a game unless it has great mods, made by the community.

I don't even buy singleplayer games anymore, only games with high replayability multiplayer which is usually only anything Valve. Every game I've bought new on eBay for $10-15 ends up collecting dust or I give away.

Lionhead Studios is a developer to look out for then, because they try to do things new instead of the same old like your talking about.

I really admire Peter Molyneux and his philosophies on game design. Truly one of my favorite studios for gaming entirely bud. It will really be a win if Fable II came to the PC platform.
