I'd really like to see a sequel for The Witcher. There probably will be one but it may take time.
Now if we're talking about sequels or remakes that we'll probably never see, I'd like to see a sequel to Betrayal at Krondor. (Well to Return to Krondor technicaly which was a sequel to Betrayal but it was much worse). As far as I know Raymond Feist (on whose work these two games were based) hasn't yet written the two books that directly follow the story of Return to Krondor. It'd be nice if one of these became first a videogame.
Beyond MAFIA I would like a Blood series and NOLF series sequel. Why isn't Monolith cranking out more games? They have so many good series, they should be coming out with a new game like every 4 months!
Ohand a SWAT 5! I would like to see a SWAT 5 more than NOLF and Blood sequel actually!
And more than anything I want EA to get the MLB license back and come out with an MVP Baseball 2008 for PC!! But it won't happen. MVP Baseball 2005 was the best baseball game ever made and since then 2K has just made total crap games with their exclusive MLB license, not to mention haven't offered that crap baseball games for PC.
Hm... I'd really like an actual sequel/update for Deus Ex, a sequel of VTMB (although this is very unlikely), Max Payne 3 and I guess NOLF3 as well. Sequels that I hope are really good are fallout and Diablo 3 (I'm positive it will eventually come out, eventually and hopefully not in MMO form). Another game I'd love would be a game like BG, NWN never really did it for me.
I haven't played the Witcher yet (I'm pretty sure I'll love it) so I'm hoping there will be more from that developer. Also DoW2 using CoH engine would rock, the games still a lot of fun as is though.
As you can see with the picture on the left...I would like it to be taken from where the Gold Boxes left it.
Mind you, Baldur's Gate is awesome. However, they never really pick up the genre to the next level. They make a hybrid new genre.
I "think" it could be successfull if done right. Are GBT fans really happy with BGs, IDs, NWNs? I don't say they don't enjoy these new titles; I just say that without going retro, the genre was dropped. These company even bring forth stuff like Mass Effect...I have nothing against THIS game, but it ain't my game and I am not even sure I will bother to try it. Next they will make some action shooting stuff.
Again, I think the Gold Boxes left an heritage nobody brings on forth. The closest thing would be game such as Fantasy War, and even if the game is wonderful in itself, it isn't the gameplay we love. 3D rooms? That is bad for recon and visibility.
Champions of Krynn could be remade. Anoter story, after the initial story...then Death Knight of Krynn and the Dark Queen of Krynn could also be redone. Trying to mix everyone in everything doesn't always work...and if BioWare takes a step toward ACTION games, this is their right. But that doesn't mean, in anyway, that the fanbase left the GBT behind because some devs did. GBT has unique gameplays, such as there are no need for a pause button, the game is always on pause unless you complete your action.
Wouldn't have to be top notch graphics. Good 2D art, amazing storyline and quests (better then Phantom Brave...just like the Gold Boxes where), some sounds.
I doubt it would be a blockbuster...but it could definitely be successfull...to some extend.
I mean, Dragon's Age and BioWare MMO (assuming it isn't the same)may or not be great fun...but neither is even remotedly close to their origin... or to the gold boxes. The company "evolves" to some other realms, that doesn't mean nobody could fit the seat they left empty. BioWare (and other RPG companies)saw the mass of players in Diablo and other more action-games. This is fine. But the GBT fans doesn't stop existing...
A new version of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind+expansions, with todays graphics and some type of working co-op/multiplayer. :)
Oh, I forget to give a short, simple suggestion.
The team which did Fantasy War, tasked to redo Champions of Krynn (10 years later or something similar), no 3D except during animations if they want, the right to pick and mix any version of D&D rules that exist (D&D, AD&D, 2nd, 3rd, 3.5, 4th).
Could also use the team behind Heroes of Might and Magic or the Team behind Massive Assault, but they would need a story-driven team (such as City of Heroes has, or most BioWare gameshas).
I'd Like to see a sequal to Counter-Strike Source.. maybe a CS:S 2 or someting idk..MarioBros12321
I second that, I love CS:S, but i'd gladly recieve a CS:S2! :D. New built in gameplay modes/weapons would be awesome.
I'd like a Diablo 3 and a remake of Indigo Prophecy, cuz it was an amazing game and yet the graphics were horrible even though it required a pretty good CPU and GPU for the time.
Another good sequel would be KOTOR3.
Wow. All the great memories...
Glad to see a lot of older school Monolith fans. Would love a remake of Blood. Another NOLF. More AvP. (To bad that Monolith and Fox won't be likely to work together any more.)
I second the Rocket Jockey suggestion. That game had such a great premise. I have a copy, but I can't get it to work with XP.
A good Interstate sequel. And, for gods sake, not a goddamn GTA rip-off. Just good old Interstate fun.
Another (real) Duke Nukem would be nice (let us hope that one day DNF comes out and doesn't suck).
A superb sequel to Deus Ex would be pleasing.
But most of all, I would like to see a remake of...Alley Cat!
The first game I ever played, and the most awesome 30kbs of fun ever conceived! Download it and rejoice!
Meh, forgot to add Mechwarrior to the list.
Sequels I Wish For:
Knights of the Old Republic III (as a single player RPG)
Beyond Good & Evil 2
No One Lives Forever 3
Diablo III
Opposing Force Sequel (finding out what happened to Adrian Shephard)
Vampire: The Requiem (or some other faithful follow-up to Vampire TM - Bloodlines)
SWAT 5
Remake I Wish For:
Silent Hill remake (not necessarily a PC game, but it's probably the one game I wish to see remade on modern tech)
