I never had faith in D3 when it was announced as a 2D game(now in 2012, are you serious?) loved D1 and D2, but now games from their competitors has set the bar too high. Blizzard however, never seem to wake up from their fantasy land. I no longer care for any blizzard titles.... ever since they vastly disappointed me in SC2, I know they are incapable of accepting new concepts and making changes
You made the same thread this morning

Are you trying to troll...?
1- Do you honestly think games are good or bad depending on if they are 2D or 3D? 2- What was wrong with SC2?I never had faith in D3 when it was announced as a 2D game(now in 2012, are you serious?) loved D1 and D2, but now games from their competitors has set the bars too high. I agree with Viper and Gamefan. Blizzard is afraid of change, and that is really disappointing.SKaREOMaybe, but let me play Devil's Advocate for a second here: Why change something when it's not broken and works really good?

Why does the ocean have a tide? Because stagnation will lead to death and decay.

Okayyyyyy...I guess.... but u still didn't answer my question.
For example SC2. I've never been a big fan of RTS, I don't really like them. The only RTS I have liked were Warcraft, Starcraft and Dawn of War.
When SC2 came out, I started playing and immediately had fun cause it was just like SC1 with better graphics, new units, story etc etc.
You say Blizzard doesn't like change. The change from Warcraft 2 to 3 was pretty big. Then they took on the MMO scene.
I agree with Viper and Gamefan. Blizzard is afraid of change, and that is really disappointing.SKaREOWhy do you think they're afraid of change? It comes back to the fanbase. They've changed a few small things in the game and people are already ready to start these stupid boycotts and what have you. First concept art for the game is released and someone starts a petition. They're basically holding Blizzard to ransom in some ways. Imagine the reception if Blizzard really turned D3 on its head.
Diablo 3 is 3D.I never had faith in D3 when it was announced as a 2D game(now in 2012, are you serious?) loved D1 and D2, but now games from their competitors has set the bar too high. Exactly this. You guys make me laugh..Dont you realize its the starting city..Its not suppose to be hard at all...So give me a break on all these comments..Starting cities always start off slow..Why not wait for the next chapter...Wait tll u get out in the lands an see the world..After that you can comment i can care less..Just wait and see what the other lvls have to offer..

Ridiculous.. considering they have changed things and people just cried about it.
This. If they actually changed the gameplay people would be up in arms over it. Hell, they changed a few smaller things and people are already b*tching about it. The fact is, I want Diablo 3 to play like Diablo 2, because Diablo 2 was awesome and tons of fun. Blizzard is just giving the Diablo fans what they want, a Diablo game. If you people don't like it, cool, stop spamming these forums with your hate. The problem with Diablo 3 is it's to sophisticated for a lot of people, you can't have adhd and play Diablo it just don't mix.Travis_OdellI have ADHD, I play Diablo just fine, calling Diablo 3 sophisticated is like calling Fox News fair and balanced. I love Diablo, I enjoyed the Diablo 3 beta, its one of my favorite series, Diablo 2 was amazing back in the day, but Diablo is not complicated in anyway, its combat system is hack and slash, which by defintion is quite simple. The removal of character choice in terms of stat asignment makes it even more simple. That being said I preordered and am waiting anxiously for release day which just happen to be a week before finals(great)

And yes Diablo takes strategy, strategy means sophistication for gamers, most gamers want instant gratification fact this gen.
[QUOTE="CDudu"]Baldur's Gate I+II. Obviously my opinion, but I ADORE these games. Diablo is great but it's not Baldur's Gate!Tell me a game that has aged better than Diablo.

Those games have not aged well at all. Aside from their story, everything about them blows. The D&D 2nd Edition system is so incredibly cumbersome and bulky, especially when translated to a video game, that it kills alot of enjoyment.

For your information it isnt, theres a difference between being lazy and non paying attention and ADHD, you clearly have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Diablo doesnt take strategy, you can literally beat a boss by standing and holding the mouse button while pressing hotkeys and spamming health potions, its not a hard game.
Dungeon Siege 3 is terrible. I bought it at a heavy discount, and I regret it.
If you want innovative takes on the Diablo formula, check out Sacred and Din's Curse. Neither have the production values of a blizzard game, but both are pretty good. Din's Curse in particular does some cool things with the sandbox element.
I didn't like it because I found the game bland. The graphics, attacks, pretty much everything felt generic, which bored me. That's my opinion, at any rateEssianHow is it generic? What are you comparing it to?
I either hated or got bored of every hack and slask / action dungeon crawler I ever tried, including Dungeon Siege 2, Diablo 2, Titan Quest, and more.
Played Diablo 3 beta and got insta-hooked. Played it absolutely non-stop through the weekend.
Awesome combat? Hell yeah. Deep story? No idea and I don't care.
[QUOTE="Elann2008"]"The main problem with Diablo 3 is that the combat is incredibly shallow. There is really almost nothing to it. It was good back in the year 2000, but is simply not up to today's standards." Same could be said about almost any game of any genre. I think there are more people that want the same gameplay than people expecting your character to make you breakfast. What innovations were you looking for? I'm just curious.shakmaster13Not really. ARPG genre has been completely stagnant.
Torchlight 2
Dead State
Grim Dawn
Path of Exile
Dark Souls, saying hi to you
yea the game is bad, don't believe the hype people because the game is **** and that is that. on another note if you really like this genre (I prefer a real rpg where I can manually move and look where ever I want) then look into Path of Exile it will be free to play http://www.pathofexile.com/ igsmitherlolwut? You can't manually move in Diablo 3? That's news to me. Go away troll.

Path of Exile uses the same isometric camera as Diablo, you can't look anywhere you want either.

How many of those are actually innovative in any way besides Dark Souls, which shouldn't even count since it's a JRPG....and yet Diablo 3 will sell millions upon millions of copies and people will be playing it for the next decade; whereas all of these purportedly amazing titles from their competitors will be forgotten within a few years.I never had faith in D3 when it was announced as a 2D game(now in 2012, are you serious?) loved D1 and D2, but now games from their competitors has set the bar too high. Define "fantasy land"...
You mean the land where Blizzard controls the gold-standard title in THREE separate genres?
That "fantasy land" would be called "Earth".

I think that is the most logical post I have read on these forums.
