The Witcher 2 is a much better game than I previously thought.

Earlier I got a completely inaccurate view of The Witcher 2 by watching a video on YouTube called "The Witcher 2 Gameplay - Internal video!". This video inaccurately represents gameplay of The Witcher 2, especially combat. Since then, I saw more recent videos of TW2 gameplay and the game looks awesome! The combat is greatly improved compared to the first Witcher game, and the visuals look top notch.

Is the dialogue and story really good too?

Yes it's pretty good. I'm playing through it right now, and I'm really enjoying it :). So go ahead and buy it. If your an RPG fan you should definitely get Witcher 2.

The dialogue and story is some of the best out there imo, the plot is intricate and the dialogue has a full range from epic to genuinly funny. I would play the first game prior to the sequel though, you will find the story more enjoyable that way plus its also a great game, just not quite as pretty.

^ This.

The combat requires more strategy and a lot more attention than that of the first game. It takes a while to get used to, but once you get the hang of it it is enjoyable. CD Projekt RED are still improving the combat through patches.

As SapSacPrime says, the plot is intricate, the decisions you make affect the game significantly, and the environments are really detailed and look phenomenal.

The video you saw was kinda dated, that is all.
