The Witcher and steam sale

If i buy the witcher on steam will it be able to run fine if i am using windows 7? On system requirements lab is says that windows 7 does not run this game. Thanks for the help!

I had it running on windows 7, wasn't through steam however, so even though steam shouldn't change anything so drastic that would keep it running can't verify for sure.
