A simple answer from someone and I will have the Witcher completely figured out.

The only thing that is puzzling me is in the talents distribution aspect of the game. Am I able to skip lower tier talents, and just learn the higher tier of that talent? I will give you an example...

In the tree of "Strong Steel Weapons" there is a talent called "Crushing Blow". Now as level 1 Strong Steel user I can get rank one of crushing blow. But if I were to advance to level 2 Strong Steel, and then not learn crushing blow rank 1 but instead learn rank 2 (without ever learning rank one), am I still receiving the same effect as though i learned rank 1?

Or even though I am able to learn rank 2 over rank 1, is rank 1 still required for me to recive the effects of rank 2?

Again this is the only thing that I am confused on and maybe there is something I'm just overlooking, but its preventing me from spending my points confidently thus slowing my experience with The Witcher.

As I understand it, it all adds up, otherwise it would be pretty stupid.

Ya I was pretty sure but not sure enought that i wanted to spend my points.

But just so i have this clear, eventually in the Strong Steel tree, if you take all 3 talents, you gain +75% damage while using a steel blade in strong stance?

^Yup

The percentage increases to base damage and other similar effects are additive.

I read info from people from CD Projekt that level 1 traits are used for first stage of combo, level 2 - for second stage, lvl 3 - for third and so on... I don't remember if they add or not for every next stage of combo(as lvl 1 and lvl 2 traits for second stage of combo, lvl 1, 2 and 3 for 3 stage etc.)

What I remember of the sword level ups, the sections are seperated by the actual swings within the chaining. So, the first section is for swing one, the second section if for swing two, and so on. And the stuff you unlock for each of those swings, is only active for that certain swing. So that's you incentive to click them off.

That is what I had thought it was So Stage 1 on Strong Steel bonus damage would apply to the first set of swings in an attack. When the cursor changes to the flaming symbol and you launch into the second part of the combo, the Stage 1 bonus won't apply, but points in the Stage 2 bonus would.

Actually, that's right now that I think about it. If it's under one of the sword style lines, it adds damage only to the stage of the combo that it's listed under.

However, the damage and effect bonuses that come from the STAT trees (Strength, Endurance, etc), weapon bonuses, shrine bonuses, and potion bonuses -- those are ALL additive.
