It's a real pity that this game didn't make it as big as it really should have. Those who play it almost always love it, and I believe that it is, hands down, the highest quality action RPG game made since Diablo II.

I still enjoy playing it from time to time, both solo and with friends, but every time I go back to it I am always dissapointed with the lack of documentation on the game.

You can find an item compendium floating around on a few sites, but pretty much everything else is undocumented.

There are many, many stats, and modifiers that aren't clearly explained within the game that you can't really get a clear answer on via wiki pages, there are no boss loot drop tables to be had, nothing. I was looking for one of the most commonly recognized items yesterday, the Thorny Maul, and the absolute best search result I found still had no definite answers on its possible locations, every from people who had found it.

Makes me sad :\ I hope THQ does a better job of explaining some of these things, or making the information available at least, with its upcoming game in this venue.

Most of the stuff you mentioned is availible, including full loot lists, where to find/farm all of the MI items, stat formulas, skill calculators, and just about anything else you want to know. Regarding the Throny Maul, the very first result from a google result returned: http://www.titanquest.net/tq-forum/threads/12695-Good-place-to-look-for-quot-Thorny-Maul-quot There is also a spreadsheet out there that has all of the drop tables for all of the bosses. https://rs165tl2.rapidshare.com/#!download|165tl|49302788|TQ-Boss-Drop-v0.3.xls|39|R~0

Yeah, that's actually the thread I mentioned, and if you look through it, there's no definite answers to be found :\ I'll give these other links a try though, I appreciate the references.

There was quite a few answers. For one, legendary Polyphemus has a chance to spawn with it, and his chest can also drop it. There were a few locations mentioned in Epic as well. It's random...

It drops in various places starting in epic. In TQ there is really no items (sans special stuff like overlord key and santa stuff) that drop only to specific bosses.

Indeed. It was very bland. Boring loot, boring skill trees, boring environments, boring narrative, boring enemies, boring bosses...

If everyone had the same taste in games we'd all play the same game. Luckily they made Titan Quest for the immature ones. ;)

I also agree. Like I said. Lacked anything to keep my attention. It isnt about taste, its about creativity. It had very little. I do admit the models and animations were good but their color choices were so bad. I hated going from one place to another and it all looking the same.

TQ is the best hack´n slash game since Diablo2. All maps looks awesome and gameplay is fun.

TQ is a brilliant game, I'd even say its a lot better than Diablo 2 *flameshield ON!*

but it, like most isometric action RPGs, is incredibly simple in terms of mechanics. It doesnt need a manual describing how to play (all you need is a mouse, really, for 98% of it) and as far as an index of items, I dont think any developer is going to waste the cost of paper to give you a few hundred pages detailing every item.

As far as stats go, its an RPG...do what you want, just use common sense. Having a manual saying "If youre class A, then put points into stat X and Y, and take skills 1, 2 and 3"...sort of defeats the purpose of being able to build your own guy or gal.

Pretty much this. :P Can't forget the weak online component and weird difficulty at the beginning (first mini-boss always takes 50+ hits in coop to kill).

Doesn't excuse your terrible taste and inability to recognize quality. Don't worry, in time your pallet will mature.

There's no need for a flame shield, a lot of what TQ has over Diablo 2 is actually quantifiable. I think overall D2 is the better game though, but yeah agree TQ has many things I think are superior than what's in D2.

tbh the only reason I subjectively enjoyed D2 more than TQ is because my buddy and I played it a lot in the dorms lol. Me, him, and this cool mormon kid would party up and kill some fools :P Games like this definately benefit from having good friends to play with.

Objectively I still prefer TQ, but I had more fun with D2. Can't wait for D3!

Considering the game's rather more substantial flaws, i wouldn't consider the lack of documentation to be a big deal...perhaps you should play better games if you are not satisfied.
