Hello there.

Currently, I'm looking for a new case, and have narrowed it down to two choices within my price range. The Antec 900, and the Thermaltake V9.

The question is which one should I get? Both look like they are really nice. I'm leaning more towards the Thermaltake V9 right now, but noticed that the Antec 900 is a very popular case.

I dont do a whole lot of gaming on my PC right now, mainly putting in flight hours in FSX, but plan on changing that soon. I Figured I want a nice case so I can eventually upgrade to a nicer video card without worrying too much about heat.

Any opinions  are welcome. Thanks!

I say get the Thermaltake V9 Black Edition EDIT I had to try to post that 4 times thanks to the random your html is not well formed error. The 2 230mm fans=great air flow at low db's. Just make sure you have a good exhaust as well if both of those fans are intakes. It doesnt look like the specs are up to date on newegg.

Thanks for the reply. Thats actually the exact thermaltake V9 i was looking at.

The large fans are pretty impressive, and with the current area my computer sits, with good air flow, I'm certain that would keep the inside of the case nice and cool.

Plus you gotta love the black finish inside the case.

Both got the badass black interior. However, the 900 looks better on the outside.

The Antec 900 doesn't actually have a black interior unless they've updated it (I doubt it). That Thermaltake V9 interior doesnt look half bad, but it has no side panel window, so why paint the inside black? And the 900 does not have a black painted interior, but does have a side window (which is big plus for me). Now that I look at it, the V9 doesnt appear to have much for cable management. At least the 900 has holes to route cables behind the motherboard tray, but its still lacking a bit, but more than nothing.

Actually, ive seen a few images of the Thermaltake V9 Black Editions with side panel windows.

However the one I'm looking at on Newegg doesn't have one.

EDIT: Scratch that, I was talking about the normal V9's with side panel windows.

I use the Thermaltake M9 (Similar to the V9) for my girlfriends PC and am very pleased with it. I picked it over the Antec 900 mainly because I am not a fan of the PSU on the bottom design.

But I painted the inside black myself, looks a lot better that way, IMHO. Newegg has it for $50 after rebate, with free shipping. That's what I paid for mine, well worth it IMHO.

I've considerd the M9, but found myself more attached to the V9.

Is the only difference between the normal V9 and the V9 Black Edition the side 230mm fan? (Aside from the interior color)

If you want a full tower with a side panel and big fans, take a look at the Xclio A380plus. I have mine purely for getting a fully stable oc on air.

You don't need a full-tower case to get a stable 3.0GHz out of that Q6600.

Yes, because that case is the reason your mediocre 67MHz overclock is stable...

You mean 600mhz right? You know 1000mhz=1ghz and a q6600 is 2.4ghz stock. And again I said I wanted a full tower. So go be a troll and highjack a thread somewhere else, boy.

You don't know what a reference clock is? Using EasyTune to overclock your processor or what? And you said you wanted a full tower...so you could get a stable OC. Not because you like space, not because you prefer the look, not because you need EATX support, but because it is "purely for getting a fully stable OC on air". Which is not why anyone need a full-tower.
