Oh my god, no. How can you even want movie games? They suck as much as the movies, trust me, I work for Uwe Boll.Ps2stony
Apparently you work for Bungie, and Activision too
imagine Iam legend as a game !! the dark buildings using a flashlight and the crazy atmosphere in the night ! with all the screams
Iam Legend is a must

They are generally bad, yes, but that doesn't mean they're all bad, and should never be made.
Like, for example, your posts are generally tedious, but, uh... I'm not sure where I'm going with this actually.

I am Legend would be cool. An open-world game based in New York where you kill zombies, conduct research, unearth the truth behind the disease.
Cloverfield, not so much. Although a "Giant Monster Survival" game would be pretty sweet.

I thought it was based off the Movie Omega man with Charlton Heston, vs a book.Omega Man was based off the book "I am Legend". It's come full circle.
I think it could be a great game, but the movie to game track record has been so lousy in the past. I just don't even care about them anymore.

I use the term "zombie" loosely to describe mindless, aggressive, murderous semi-humans. Living (as with I Am Legend or 28 Days Later) or undead (Night of the Living Dead, Land of the Dead, etc).
Yes I know that they are not zombies in the Romero sense of the word, but so many movies of late have been redefining what a zombie is that I feel the term is appropriate, at least pertaining to the film. I have not read the book, sadly, but if the zombies have some sort of intelligence and humanity to them in the book, then I stand corrected.
ok...one more time....they. are. V A M P I R E S. in the book, and they are smart
rez22
Lighten up, dude...theyre just zomb...I mean "vampires".
thelma & louise. Or pride and prejudice.
Right... But seriously. An RPG set in Godfather world. EA owns the rights to the franchise, Bioware could pull that off... maybe. The more I think about it, the dumber this particular suggestion sounds.
"Blade Runner"-RPG would rule though. That movie is all about atmosphere and gritty environments, with today's technology someone could create that and Deckard is not the only bladerunner in that universe.
Samurai Jack is a cartoon-series, but I would seriously cream my pants (not really), if someone made a cell-shaded game based on the series. I just love the art-style and the humor in some of the episodes. Seasons of Death (or something like that) is art.
Firefly. Not an MMO, but an SP-RPG. Like Mass Effect, where you can fly from planet to planet and blow **** up. And it has to be an RPG, I love the dialog in the show. Ah, hell, just give me something. A new episode, a movie, a game, just something.
Total Recall would be a nice shooter/adventure-game.
I'd love to play a fantastic Western-game based on "The good, the bad and the ugly", but 'fantastic' and 'western game' don't mix.
Mad Max, but they are making that. So I don't have to wish.
A Predator game made in Cryengine 2, need I say more?
Oh, and a new shooter based on The Thing. There is one, but it's not the best game in the world.
An open ended gameplay in the west, would be very appealing if it's done right. Just my opinion though.
Battlestar Galactica (tv series but whatever) - I would like to see a space sim (dogfighting + fleet scale stuff), FPS (on the ships and planets) and adventuring (character interaction, maybe puzzles). I think BSG has all of the components to make a genuinely great hybrid game.
Terminator - with T4 on the horizon, we'll probably see some crappy licensed game, but Terminator 1 & 2 is such an awesome story, and it would be fun to be able to play as T101, T1000 and the Connors. I'm thinking a hybrid of first and third person shooting (gotta be TPS for T1000).
Jurassic Park - Dinosaurs = awesome. Killing them = more awesome. The Crysis JP mod looks pretty awesome, so a full blown game could be amazing.
Pi - This would make a great third person shooter. It should be set in a small room with a TV, and your character is watching the movie Pi. You have to watch your character watching the movie Pi for as long as possible before you grab a gun and blow his brains out.
No and No.
They should make games of the following movies:
Collateral
The Last Samurai.
Underworld (even if it was a crap movie).
The Departed maybe?
Rescue Dawn!!
Unfortunately we've already had a very bad Terminator game.
And there is Jurassic Park Operation Genesis as well.
chandu83
I know, but the universes are great, and how good (or bad) the previous games are has no bearing on how good future games could be.
There's a pretty great Terminator 2 game, too, if you ever played it. A 2D platformer / isometric driving game. SNES era. It's quite a while since I played it, but I remember it being pretty awesome.
I dunno about Jurassic Park. If killing oversized crocs is all that is fun about a game, I don't think I'd want to spend too much cash on it. Turok...
Terminator is great. Second movie, not so much... Blasphemy, I know. But I see the potential. Especially the flashbacks to the future. Eh. That sounded weird.

Sure, they are good. Except The last Samurai. I don't like Tom Cruise and I don't want to see his movies from now on. Have you seen the youtube video? Scientolog(?)-lunatic...
Don't know about the Departed. What kind of gameplay do you think would fit that one?

I don't care about Scientology - I still like his movies a lot, especially Collateral. The Last Samurai could have a lot of sword play in it and kung fu.
The Departed could have gunplay, stealth, driving, chase sequences (like the bit where Costello is being followed, or where he has to escape when on the rooftop).

I probably wouldn't have generic Turok style run n gun, I'd want it to be more of a stealth/survival horror game. Zombies or 'monsters' are often used in survival horror games, but I can't think of anything as scary as being chased by one of the most evolved predators ever to walk the earth. It would take very detailed environments (for you to hide under things, jump over things, scrambled over stuff etc to get away), but I think it could be done excellently.
I would want a little gunplay, but most of the appeal of dinosaurs is that they will eat you alive... if you can just gun them down, that's lost.

Yeah, i'd take a future war game. The 4th film is supposedly set during the war, so we're probably getting just that anyway. Can't believe you don't like Terminator 2. I literally can't believe it. You're lying. You love it.
I don't care about Scientology either, but Cruise is using his popularity and power to lure people into that crazy sect. I do not want to give that guy even more attention and money so that he can try and "save" me from the spirits of bad aliens. If I don't want to be saved, I have to leave the "playing field". Hollywood finally got to him...
but I can't think of anything as scary as being chased by one of the most evolved predators ever to walk the earth
Technically, that's us.
And I do like T2, I just don't love it like I love the first movie..
wait, I got he best suggestion...
here it is...
they should base a game off of...
...BATTLE ROYALE! how awesome would that be
If you dont like Tom Cruise cuz you think he is another Hollywood pretty boy you need to see Magnolia and Collateral. Right now.
The guy is crazy but he is an awesome actor...and thats what I pay him for, his acting ability, not his personal life. If he did voiceovers for a game it'd be totally awesome. For some reason I can totally see him voicing over for some scumbag character like a pimp or drug dealer for GTA or something.

Samurai using kung fu... :P I wasn't aware they knew Chinese martial arts.

I've seen Collateral. He's good, but he's not that good. I don't see how anything I've written in this thread would give you the impression that I think he's just a pretty boy.
BTW, I'm not against religion or personal beliefs. I just don't like weird sects that take advantage of people. Including those fat preachers on TV. I don't think that asking for money on various cable-channels was what Jesus had in mind when he started the whole thing.
there's only one movie that i care to see made into a game - heat.
you should be able to play either as al pacino or robert deniro's characters. and it has to feature awesome gunfights. and it has to feature robert deniro and al pacino's voice acting. and michael mann should be there throughout the development as a consultant.

Excellent.
Very well said Bojangles. I agree about so of that. (Though I haven't seen Magnolia!!)
I'm not so sure about voice work. I went to Imax to watch the 3D documentary on Space and he was narrating it. He was a little too distinctive and weird...
"To you and me this is like the Ultimate Video Game..."
Now I listened to Alec Baldwin in the demo for WIC and he was good and only just recognisable!!

Ah, is Heat any good? I take it your answer will be yes. I recently bought Heat and Ronin on impulse, but I haven't watched either yet.

they're both good movies. i think heat was absolutely incredible on the big screen. the gun fights are just intense; the best i've seen in movies. it lost some of its luster in the transition to the small screen. and it drags on for a bit too long. and many don't like the ending. but if you have a big screen tv, surround sound, just turn the lights off and enjoy the show. it features beautiful cinematography and the music was composed by u2's bono. so win, win for me, at least.
Here are a few that I wouldn't mind seeing...
- A decent James Bond game on PC. I've yet to see one. They should get Monolith to do it because they did an excellent job with the NOLF games.
- Blade Runner as an FPS/RPG hybrid along the lines of Deus Ex.
- an action FPS based on Where Eagles Dare. One of my favourite WW2 movies. The first few levels of RTCW were kind of like a subtle nod towards that movie.
- all of the Sinbad movies/stories as an action fantasy title along the lines of Oblivion.
- Day Of The Triffids (not the crap movie but the excellent book) as a survival/horror FPS.
- The 13th Warrior - as a third person hack'n'slash action RPG.
- any Philip Marlowe movie/story as an RPG/FPS mystery/action hybrid set in the 1930s.

Casion Royale (the recent one, not the old one) is one of the best bond movies ever and that could be made into a game.
Blade Runner - In the same universe perhaps, not following the movie, like a sequel.
Triffids - I haven't seen the movie but I heard that was what inspired 28 Days later (that at least would make an interesting game).
Love to see a Marlowe game and we know how well Film Noir can be done in a game after Max Payne. Though I wouldn't want a game as convoluted as the movies!!
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The western clas$ics have not been completely exploited yet. We have seen Desperados Wanted Dead or Alive, Gun and Call of Juarez, but compare that to the WWII titles, and you'll realize that this sub genre has a lot of scope. An open ended gameplay in the west, would be very appealing if it's done right. Just my opinion though.
chandu83
agreed - also i've said it before they should do a Bourne game but as an FPS, unlike the third person combat game as planned
the 13th warrior would be a good idea !!
a survival horror would suit me best since am a fan of 1st person shooters /3rd person (like max payne and the punisher)
also liked the idea where the game would switch from Rpg to adventure to a shooter depending on the situation
(somethng like resident evil but with more diversity in enemies and more hiding and running away due to lack of ammo , with a detailed world)
