How do graphics cards affect the CPU? Well, I'm not sure about other people's computers, but getting one stopped my computer from crashing all the time...:D

Both that Celeron and video card are atrocious. You might as well save your money and build a whole new computer later on. Dells blow.

How does a graphics card effect the CPU? Well if you have an extremely powerful graphics card and a mediocre cpu, then the slow cpu would bottlneck the graphics card and vice versa... For that CPU you could probably go with a 4830, and not be too bottlnecked (however not 100% dure)... hopefully someone with a better idea can give you a clue

That's great, now you can move over your memory, harddrive, OS and CD/DVDR Drive from that crappy Dell, and save about $300 on your next PC build. Just tell us your budget and we can provide you with a great motherboard, processor, video card, and power supply within your budget!!!

if you have a such tight budget you are better of reusing the HD, dvd drive etc from your other computer that way you only worry about the the cpu motherboard ram and case

I sugest the following
case>antec 300

mobo>gigabyte ud3

Ram>Kingstom value ram

CPU>AMD PhenomII 920

GPU>HD4350 (perfect if you watch movies but dont do hardcore gaming)

total of this is aproximalety 534$ with shipping and taxes before rebates

If you were referring to my build, you would be able to play Crysis on 1680x1050 resolution, settings Medium / High, 30 FPS.

With mine... probably High at reasonable res 1680x1050, 1440x900... and with kataina probably a mix of med-high at similar resolutions... Don't expect to play crysis extremely high though

You'd need a quad core for GTAIV. Just replace the E7400 in my build with a Q6600, which costs about $80 more - still within your budget.

You're running a pretty powerful rig so that would be why... with a new Phenom and also a 4870 which is a much larger upgrade over the 4830 and 4850... are you using the 4870 1gb? And to stroke your ego, yes it's a very nice pc

yea I know that core i7 looks promising for the next 3-5 years unless an octacore or a pentacore comes out lol
