Well, my parents got an LG 720p and they like it, but I'm wondering what other people's opinions on LG TVs are. Are there any brands of TVs I should stay away from? Any brands that really stand out? I'm looking to spend 800-900 dollars. Also, which would be the better store to buy from. Best Buy or Circuit City. Thanks for all the help. :)

1080p 32" is a waste....

It's incredibly hard to see a difference between 720p and 1080p on TV's lower than 40". Personally I think you should either upgrade to a nice 37"-40" 720p TV or save up a lot more if your hell bent on a 1080p TV.

You should go with a TV that suits you (Coaxial slot, HDMI, Computer Input, etc).

I've got a 720p 32" LG in the bedroom and a 1080p 32" Samsung in the spare room. I've moved the PS3 between the two and honesty can't tell much of a difference in picture quality. Both are great TVs and I highly recommend, but I don't think there is a need for 1080p at that size.

Hmm.... good point on the 1080p being unnecessary on smaller TVs. I don't want something much bigger than 32, so I guess it makes sense to save money and just go with 720p.

1080p is noticeable over 720p if you are sitting close. Just like how those resolution differences are noticeable on a PC monitor you are sitting close to. How far are you going to be from it?

I highly recommend Samsung. I've got two LCD's monitors and a DLP from them and I have been super happy with all 3.

Also, I'd recommend going with Best Buy if you plan on having any kind of after-purchase support. Circuit City has been struggling lately and may be closing stores soon. That could make it difficult for you to get support from later on.

Samsung is a good brand... Just remember that lcds are not as good as plasma with viewing angles. That is the only thing setting these 2 techs apart at this point.IMO
