I think im having driver problems, I have an 8800gtx and im getting 60 fps on high on hl2, it feels as if the fps cant go higher than 60. I have an 5000+ 2 gigs of ram and an m2n4-sli. It also crashes a lot. Any help is very appreciated!

hm, yeah, my rig is less than that and i get like 100+ fps in hl2. make sure all your drivers are up to date. may need to flash your mobo.

im having the same problem but 60fps is nice, im happy as long as it doesnt go under that. But i hope they do fix this, i have a 8800gts

If you have vsync on, then the framerate will not rise above your monitors refresh rate. It stops image tearing by preventing the monitor from having to show two images at once.

thanks, I turned off v-sync and i got a whopping 290 fps!

Thats immpossible...unless you either have SLIed 8800GTX's and/or you're playing at less than 1024x768.

actually not really, i just got 220fps on oblivion maxed out at 1650x1600 so i would say i could get that in hl2

Impossible to get 220 fps in oblivion with settings "maxed out" at said resolution. Did you happen to be indoors?

You don't get that kind of fps even when indoors. I think he is either reading it wrong, or just making up the numbers as he goes.

Well he could have made a map in the engine that's just a small blank room and is calling that Oblivion

lol, I was playing gm_hugeflatmap. Thats when I got 290. I got 80 when I was nuking everyone. Also, Will my e6700 and evga 680i mobo im getting for my birthday help withe fps?
