[QUOTE="BounceDK"]And by that time they'll have something like 3x faster than 2x8800GTX. It is indeed pretty crazy.doomsdaydave11
I agree. 2 years ago, the 6800 Ultra was the best card on the market.
That was 3 years ago.
It's not going that fast. A top card lasts 3 years. 2 years at high/max settings, 1 year at medium, then you need a new card. It's hardly the end of the world. CPU's last even longer.Â

People also fail to realize that Microsoft has claimed a possible 30 to 60% performance increase of DX9, if this is true then these cards will last even longer...  As it stands though, there is absolutly no reason not to have the 8800 GTS if you wishing to buy it for the DX9 because it dominates every game out there with max settings or close to max settings.. After in DX10 is uncharted territory with bugs that can not be really estimated, but if these claims on DX10 is true the cards may last even longer..
No no no the PS3 has 256 MB XDR system RAM and another 256 MB GDDR3 VRAM. It's 512 total, but it's pretty crappy since it's two seperate pools that make it strenuous for developers if they need more than the 256 MB GDDR3 VRAM because of the factors involved with latency and such using the SRAM for video as well. The developers of Oblivion had that issue when porting the game to PS3.TacticalElefant

That's not true wither. It's 256mb of RAM and it's dedicated, but the RSX can take more RAM from the dedicated RAM on cell if need be. It's more efficient than the 360's shared RAM, but harder to use since they're dedicated.Â
Â
Oblivions problem with the PS3 had nothing to do with RAM at all. It was about the PSN network. The RSX is also more similar to a 7950GT not 7800GTX. Â
[QUOTE="VfighterX"]lol, that's why I don't buy top of the line video cards. I can upgrade more often with less pain. XDc02z8800 gts is not the top line the GTX is.
lol 8800 GTX Ultra is. preferably the KO or the XXX Series. the factory O.clocked ones i thought everyone knew that in here :P

hmmm. that isnt so im afraid. you see, if dx10 prove to be so mutch better in practice the developers of games will use this as a obvious opurtunity to just put more into the screen of eye-candy and the result for the end user, the gamer, will be just a big leap in the good looking of the games, not in the actuall fps of the games running :) but this isnt a bad thing it just give us better graphical looks on our games. that is all good :) Â
