Tips about the STALKER patches?

I just received by mail my copy of STALKER, and when looking for the newest patch I just found 318.062: patch, international patch, incremental patch, worldwide incremental patch... I have the English version (don't know how many are out there), could someone please lend me a hand in this?

I don't want to screw things up before I even start...

And when I try the other one, this: http://public.planetmirror.com/error/forbidden.php?u=/pub/filesnetwork/Stalker/Official_Releases/Patches/stkww10005.exe&s=chaos (you don't have permission etc.).

What am I doing wrong, I'm feeling like a moron here. And FilePlanet "gives me" a 40 minutes wait... :(

BTW, what is this incremental patch, is it official or unofficial? Should I get it too?

Especially if you have Vista. My game crashes every time I press Esc to save or the Quicksave button (even with the new patch)

Nah, you'll have a good time with it so long as you know what you're getting. It's different and a lot of the initial concepts (like driving vehicles) have been removed from the vanilla retail version. But I enjoy playing the game and I have just about every FPS for the PC (CoD4, Crysis, UT3, MoH:A etc). It just "feels" different, or maybe I have radiation-sickness:shock:

Anyway, patch-it-up and have fun. Look for what's in the game, not for what's not.

BS posts 2x over. Stalker works fine on Vista, and it's a very good game overall, it is an experience no FPS fan should be without.

If you don't have permission, that may have something to do with your browser settings. That patch I linked you to, the "v1.0005" is the full official patch, no incremental release. And as for waiting, Filefront normally doesn't have that... :?foxhound_fox

Nobody told me about this "incremental patch", is it a must-have, official, unofficial? Should I get it? Am I asking too many questions? :shock: Why not?

Seriously now, I read the readme, and I still don't know if it is meant to be used together with the official patch...
