My system temp just went a bit hot, at 50C. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep the temps cooler. My CPU is running around 35C. Graphics card at around 60C, or less if I change my fanfix profile. Now, system temps just went back to 47C. I had to immediately turn up the fan in my Tuniq Tower, and kick my GPU into 50% fan speed. Temps is lower now.. down to 45C. In your experience, does better cable management help in dropping temps? Because I might have to redo all the wires and cables for better airflow. I only have three fans atm. 230mm side case fan, 120mm back fan, and 140mm drive bay fan. I also have the Tuniq Tower, and I've done the HD4870 fanfix. I ordered a 140mm VGA fan which I plan to blow from the bottom up to the blowhole. Should I get another fan for the blowhole? What's better, three fans, or five? Does more fans = better airflow? Some say, it doesnt mean better airflow. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Btw, this is the first time it's gotten this hot. And I just got through playing about 30 mins of Crysis right before I posted this.

On the topic of airflow, the best airflow would be to have the air coming in from the froint and out of the back.

Look at this crude diagram i found haha!

Try to organise your cables/wires so that air can blow freely throughtout the case. Use a cable tidy if neccassary to bunch cables together neatly.

What motherboard are you using?jmnderson69

Asrock TurboTwins X48 DDR3 Mobo. Reviews says it runs cool, and it has been until now. My build is only a day old, so maybe things haven't really kicked in yet, like the arctic cooler. When can I expect the arctic cooler 5 to set in?

Ahh thermal paste can sometimes take a while to burn in. As long as your system is stable leave it for a few days and keep and eye on your temps.

Gotcha. I should have went with the 1000w Corsair Modular PSU. The 750w which does not come in modular is a pain in the butt to wire manage. If you've seen it first-hand, you'll know what I mean.

In your experience, does better cable management help in dropping temps? Because I might have to redo all the wires and cables for better airflow. Elann2008

Yes it helps. Use zipties. Too many wires on that Corsair 750TX psu. ;)

Yeah, I hear ya. I'll just have to redo the wires and cables. I think I was too in rush when I was building it. Now, I can relax and wire manage. :P

Well, I did a hella of job with some new wire management. Nothing is blocking fans, touching the motherboard, or blocking vents. It's wide open in there, enough for hamsters to run around without getting stuck in wire entanglement. In addition, I put in a 140mm VGA fan I got today. Results? Same system temp! Any more ideas besides water-cooling system? :P Thanks..

I spent 3 hours fixing it. Quite the effort, but results dont show at all. :(

Btw, I live in Los Angeles, California so it could be weather related. It's warm to hot here, depending day or night. I wish I lived in Maryland or Canada... Nice and cold.. This thing would be 25C load. :P

yeah, minnesota! I'm gonna oc 2 4850s in CF with no fanfix and still keep them at 25c. I'll just put the case outside and extend all the cables into the inside. but I'm afraid the mosquitos might fly away with it.

Oh geez. :( Your system temp is nice and cool, and your CPU is fine but wow.. your Aux and Core.. :( Not to sound like I'm rubbing it in, but my Aux is 19C, Core0: 25C, Core1: 42C.

Lol, me too. Mosquitos are the worst. After that, it's roaches, then any species of flies...

Does your cpu have an aftermarket fan or stock? And try getting an aftermarket cooler and use some Arctic silver on your GPU...my 3870 runs at around 40C idle and about 60C load. :S
