Don't you know, this is Gamespot? The community is here is stocked full of angsty teenagers and children on the verge of adolescence who possess superiority complexes becuase they play on PC. You have an opinion? It's stupid, because it's not theirs, although they understand where you're coming from. The community here does nothing but bicker towards one another over their varying opinions. God forbid you post a thread about wanting to use a controller on the PC. They'll call you a n00b, a moron and tell you to go play on consoles(even though they sit across the room with their controllers probably nightly). I remember seeing the petition thread for the Division very first few comments were negative and crude because someone wanted a console exclusive. I've come to learn these things, and expect nothing more from a bunch angry teens. 

On the other hand, there is some very interesting and helpful people here who are not so opinionated that they can't have a conversation. 

...and add elements that we didnt ask for (tacking on RPG elements onto everything, especially mp), gaming just isnt very enjoyable.

Thanks so much for saying this.  I very much agree with this.  My biggest grievance with modern multiplayer gaming is the RPG element added to FPS games like CoD and BF.  In my view, all gamers should have all gameplay options unlocked upon installation of the game.  The fact that you have to grind to unlock gameplay features is very juvenile and appeals to the worst side of gaming (the WoW crowd).  All content that's locked away should be superficial. like callsigns, titles, weapon camo, uniforms/costumes, etc.... not material like weapons, attachments, perks, and other components that significantly affect gameplay.

Microsoft is paying for the development of the game, not to keep it hostage. Ryse was in development hell since 2006 and Microsoft salvaged it a couple of years later. They didn't even have a working proof of concept when this happened, just the pitch.

For the record, the enemy health in the E3 demo was much reduced. The QTEs are finishers. You have the option to trigger them once the enemy health is depleted. You already won. If you trigger them but ignore the button presses, a less awesome animation is played and you don't get XP and health bonuses. The QTEs can be disabled.

They completely f*cked up the presentation by lowering the health and triggering so many finishers.

You're upset over Ryse?  Have you seen how garbage that game is, the game practically plays itself with nothing but quick time events with every swing of your sword.  It is a kinect game that was heavily changed to play with a controller.  Game looks completely broken.

Crytec is no longer relevant to PC gaming. Crysis 1 was a master piece. Crysis 2 was bad. Crysis 3 was just awful. And Ryse: Son of Rome will be afwul too. Mark my words.   It was one of the most critisized games on E3.

Anyway, why are you interesting into COD with swords. 

The only game about Rome I care about is Rome 2 Total War.

Ryse: Son of Rome is nothing else than hack and slash. We gonna get a ton of this: Metal Geat Rising, Castelvania 1/2, hopefully, Final Fantasy 15.

How can this not be serious? You must have consoles on the side. I understand it's a business, but I think as a company you have the ultimate decision to either accept that business offer, or respectfully decline. There is a clear show of disrespect by Crytek by ignoring PC with the new game. They could have told EA or Microsoft "We will not make it an Xbox ONE exclusive, we will release it to PC as well" Since you know, the PC is how they got their foot in the door. 

Microsoft is undoubtedly backing Crytek financially in order for the game to be made an X1 exclusive. It's quite possible the game would never be made otherwise. 

Consoles will only sell if they have "killer-apps". These companies have to pay the big bucks to make those games exclusive to their console in order to sell more units.

End of the day, you can't expect to play all games on all platforums. The industry has never been that way and I don't see when we'll ever get there.

Crysis 3 was way better than Crysis 2. At least Crysis 3 had big open levels, Crysis 2 felt like a corridor shooter compared to the first and third one.

Exactly. There is nothing stopping MS from bringing all these exclusives to PCs. But of course they would sell less Xbox Ones though (probably only marginally less), less live subscriptions and would get no royalty fees.

It's not a new phenomena. Remember Alan Wake? Remember Alan Wake was intially touted as a Xbox 360 and Windows 7 game, then Microsoft quietly cancelled the PC version so it could be an 360 "exclusive". It was only due to the dogged determination of Remedy that we eventually got Alan Wake on the PC 2 years later. Whether we might need to wait another 2 years after the release of Quantum Break to get that on PC remains open to question.

I would dispute that we have lost all PC-focused developers. CD Projekt Red might be releasing The Witcher 3 to consoles but it's clear that the PC is still the lead platform. I would argue the same with the Crysis games.

Big platform holders like Sony and Microsoft want to encourage as many exclusives as possible because they secure console sales. But since the PC is neutral territory, most multiplaform games release on PC and usually end up being the best version.
