Hey, Just the other day I stumbled across gametreeonline.com, which is an online service that lets you download all kinds of Mac games (e.g. Dragon Age, Sims, Star Trek, etc., etc.). Personally, I can only see this working for casual gamers or Apple users who want to avoid Windows at all costs. With most Mac users using Bootcamp to play games (or Parallels/Virtualbox/emulators - whatever floats your boat), or getting their Mac games through other providers, do you think that there is a future for a Mac-only digital distributor? I'd really love to have your opinion on this.
There is always a future for these types of services and even D2D offers Mac alternatives to some games. I think more and more games will probably start to show up since EA has been releasing quite a but and now with the new STEAM beta client has OSX objects and code in it so eventually it looks like it will happen.

I absolutely agree with you there. Thank god there is more happening in the area of Mac games. It's about time! But what do you think about an online service that provides a niche setting for Mac users in particular? Because D2D, GamersGate and (possibly) Steam provide a hybrid environment where most of the content is tailored towards PC users and then Mac games are just kind of offered on the side.
