Skyrim will change our lives.. foreverChampionoChumpsI remember thinking this right before the release of Oblivion. And it was the biggest let down I have ever experienced in my life
If there was something amazingly unique about this game, I'd be hyped for it. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another open-world swords, shields, and magic RPG. Meh. I'm going to wait for player opinions before I even consider picking it up. Nothing I've seen from it really looks that impressive.
I'll do a first impression of it. Considering I disliked Oblivion, I don't think I could be bias. I'll try to be brutally honest as possible. :)If there was something amazingly unique about this game, I'd be hyped for it. I'm going to start playing Eschalon again instead.
No matter how many Bethesda games I have bought and tried before, I simply do not enjoy them. I love them for the first few hours but soon after I get so tired of them. My loss I know. :( This time I will not board the hype train and won't buy Skyrim. None the less to all those who adore bethesda games, hope you have an absolute blast in Skyrim! Share with us your feelings and experiences in the game.
By the way the Eb games stores in Australia were all absolutely packed today. Big line-ups of people picking up their collectors editions of Skyrim. Was great to see but it was really funny seeing all the negative comments on facebook regarding having to wait for it to unlock on steam. :P
The game's already broken the street release here in Australia. Also, Steam games usually don't launch at midnight on the dot, plus there's the wait while it decrypts everything... :PPlaneforgerSteam tells me that it's going to be unlocked within the hour. Then again I live in NZ, which is nearly a whole day ahead of US.

Can't call in sick to play. Since it's on Steam, and one of my work colleagues uses Steam with me on their friend list. Skyrim has achievements which means he'll see.
He told my boss once before when I called in sick when he saw I scored some achievements on Steam when I was supposed to be sick.
I lostpay from it.
I really should delete him as a friend.
I've stocked up my PC fridge with beverages ready for the weekend of Skyrim.

And it was the biggest let down I have ever experienced in my life  I liked Oblivion /flameshield on In its time, I could imagine it was great.. Unfortunately, I didn't have a great PC that could handle it. But it's really easy for some people to say how it sucks TODAY. Yes, a lot of people just started trying out Oblivion many years later. Can't blame Oblivion for that..

Unlocks here in eight hours, However I won't be playing it until I'm home from work tomorrow, Guess the amount of people decrypting it will be somewhat reduced then aswell.TreflisI work night shift, tonight. So by the time it unlocks here, I'll be home just in time. I'll try to pull an all-nighter but then I'm off to a doctor's appointment in just a few hours after that. And it's a Friday, so I must go outside and play! :P But Skyrim will be right there waiting for me, once again. :D
I am pre-loading the game now. This game is looking very good and the reviews are positive across the board.
The redone Elder Scrolls music from the trailer really got to me and I deciding I am playing this today (at midnight.) Love the ES series and it has been a while since Oblivion, (Liked Morrowind better.)
It is slightly cheaper at D2D (like $5 off) and they give you a code to download from steam.
Looking forward to blasting some monsters tonight!
Wow why would you be friends with such a jerk? Can't call in sick to play. Since it's on Steam, and one of my work colleagues uses Steam with me on their friend list. Skyrim has achievements which means he'll see.

Wonder how this will stack up against Dark Souls? I mean, if a person has both, they pretty much have all their gaming taken care of for the next 6 months or so right?
edit: And why is there no multiplayer element to Skyrim? Would have been awesome to have like an arena type place where players could duel. Or maybe join eachother for coop dungeons or what not.
Overhyped. I said it first remember :)Thats right 11:59:59 we are going to experience one of the most amazing games that will live for a long time.

I would have thought that the fact that it only got a 9 (instead of a 90) was a pretty strong indicator of that.
Anyway, I guess there's only one way to find out - I've bought it, and now I just have to wait until the end of my 72-hour Contracts exam (starting in...30 mins?) to give it a whirl.
I liked oblivion a lot, I expect the same with skyrim.JigglyWiggly_I ate up ALL the quests in Oblivion. The only game that ever made me want more and more sidequests.

Maybe the game is good, I don't know. It's maybe cause I didn't like Morrowind or Oblivion so it's not my cup of tea. But some people say it's the next coming of Christ, and from videos I think not...Please Log In to post.
