Too many games to play!! Not enuf time

This saddens me so much, does this happen to any of you too?

I am a VERY slow game player, i take my time to savor multiple games in short bursts. For instance it took my 8 months to complete Gears of War, I have not yet finished Stalker SOC and it has been 9 months, I am only 1/3 the way thru for bioshock and had it for 7 months, Crysis was done in 6 months, HOMM5 TOE 9 months 1/2 way thru, etc etc etc

and its NOT like i go through droughts where i dont play games, i plays DAILY....and to add salt to the wounds, there are sooo many games I have yet to play but MUST, and I am a completionist unless i feel the game sucks.

Yep.. I beat Crysis in a weekend, and Bioshock in another so speed isn't my problem with those kinds of games... but action rpgs like the Diablo, Sacred, and Dungeon Siege series all take forever to finish, and I love them. Lately I've been playing mmos (warhammer for 8 months and now wow for 2) and they end up eating up all my gaming time, leaving me with a list of new games to play a mile long... solution? I'm quitting mmos at the end of my sub next month and working on my games list backlog! At the moment I need to play: Sacred 2 Demigod Call of Duty World at War Dawn of War 2 And yet for some reason I find myself looking into getting back into Diablo 2... All I can say is take your time and enjoy the games at your own pace, then when you finish just pick the games you KNOW will be the best and play those, you can't afford to play crappy games if it takes you so long to finish them :P

I don't really take my time with many games. At say 15 hours a week it doesn't take me more than few weeks to get through most single player games. MP is different obviously. Right now I haven't got any new games to play for that reason. It would depend on how long you get to play them.

This is what we like to call a good problem to have, and I have it. My to play list is as follows: HL2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Mass Effect, Dead Space, Finishing Bioshock (don't enjoy it all that much), The Last Remnant, and Far Cry 2. I've been way into mainly console/multiplayer games for a while and I figured it was time to experience some good single player experiences.

LOL I can't believe it typically takes you that long to finish games. About how many do you tend to juggle at any one time?

I completely agree though, I have (and want, or will want) many more games than I have time play. I'd like more time to play them, more time to replay them, more time to spend with MP games in addition to my SP gaming passion, and more time to spend in forums talking about them. Oh well, such is life. Good luck man.

It took you 6 months to beat the whole campaign? how? I mean I can see going slow but no matter how hard I would try if I played the game everyday I could still finish it way way way faster then that... I mean the only way I can see it taking that long is if you move very rarely and just sit there and look or something. Thats weird but no I do not go through too many games and not enough time.

There are so many great games on the market at present - my problem is that I tend to move too quickly to the next title.

Empire Total War, and The Sims 3, in particular, have been neglected by me, but I could name others as well. I had been hoping to work my way through some of these titles this summer, but this summer actually hasn't been a dry one. We've had Arma 2, Fuel, Ghostbusters, The Sims 3, and some decent Fallout 3 content in disc form, thrown at us.

Yeah, it's a problem.

He's saying that he doesn't play his games everyday, but rather plays them at irregular intervals. I'm like that as well. Far Cry 2, which I loved, and which I bought during the first week, remains unfinished for me. Most titles I don't finish. I've spent at least 100 hours on Oblivion and I've never finished the main quest. Same for Neverwinter Nights 2 - I'll rave on about that game, and I've spent over 50 hours with it, at least - but I've never completed the main quest.

I try not to get involved in a game before I have done with the one I'm playing (that can either mean I beat it or I give up on it). Toom many games together are never a good idea, it spoils the fun, it becomes something that needs to be done and not time you spend for entertainment. I know the temptation of getting the new hot title is always around the corner, but what can wait? The game gets cheaper or other games you are more interested in come out...

It used to take me a long time to complete games as well. Tomb Raider 4 way back when took me a year to complete, but I only had that one game with me, and I was taking my time.
These days, I typically finish a game in a week or two. I think STALKER is going to take me a little longer though.

Ye, totally agree with u. Usually, I play one game for not only once, like GTA, WC3, NFS... never enough.. and new games are overwhelming. I feel so tired to be a player, lol~ We'd better choose some classic ones to play..

I can't even finish the first section of a game in a week - I usually reach the end of the first section about two weeks after I've started the game.

Then I'll often think that I must be at the halfway point, at least, or that perhaps the game is short and I'm almost near the end. Then I'll consult a walkthrough or a gameguide only to discover that I've barely even begun. It must have something to do with the way you play, or how old you are?

The other thing I've noticed is that if a game really excites me, then I'll often stop playing it, and want to go post about it at a forum or something.
