Hi there

I'm about to buy a new high-end laptop gaming rig and could use some advice since I haven't upgraded in a few years.

Is alienware king or possibly Asus? I'm willing to spend up to abotu 3500 USD.

thanks for any input and links!!!

ooh! I'd love to have one of those.

Honestly though Alienware isn't really all that bad for laptops. Desktops I say no...but laptops are ok in my book.

An home-made setup for ½ the price.

Not to mention you get the Alienware warranty. If nothing else they have some of the best out there for PCs. They build them well and fix it if it breaks.

EDIT: That original laptop is no longer available though.

the Aurora series is extremely competive with 9 GB DDR3 memory, i7-920 and 2 GTX260s, its hard to build a computer for that price, the laptops are 2400+ for something you can find in an asus for 1500

Using the alienware M17 laptop, i can say that Dell has the worst customer service in existance and that alienware laptops are very expensive and the built in software is buggy. Having said that, if you have the money lying around and are computer savvy enough to deal with your own problems if they come up, then i would say go for alienware for the best mobile gaming experience, just be sure to disable AlienwareFusion since the program turned into a memory leak after windows 7 and drains the computer of all it's proccesing power, also they really do slack with their driver updates.

I agree with dell having terrible customer service, I've had to deal with them more than a few times.

Oh it is just bloody disgusting, seriously if you do not have enough computer expertise to deal with the majority of problems you'd expect to occur, don't bother with anything Dell, their quality of CS should be a crime
