Very interesting list. Finally, someone jumps off the 'let's say Skyrim is the best game EVAR!' bandwagon, it was getting annoying.

3. Frozen Synapse
4. Terraria
5. WH40K: Space Marine
6. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
7. Dark Souls 8. Mortal Kombat
9. Shadow Era
10. Sonic Generationslist
This list couldn't be any further from my own preferences, in all honesty I think it's a rather poor list. To each his own I guess.

Not sure why his dismissing the game is so appealing to you...it's not like he even had some great reason for excluding it...he just says he really didn't play it and doesn't want to becuase lots of people like it...lol...what a hipster.

I think he was just fed up of hearing about it, it got to the point when he couldn't even enjoy the game.
Not sure if I agree with the list, but its his opinion.

I left a recommendation for Skyrim on my Steam page making sure to describe the game properly: http://steamcommunity.com/id/zubinen[QUOTE="Legacy-of-Todd"][QUOTE="Renevent42"]

HAhaa you're "special" if you enjoy Skyrim? I think you're special if you can't enjoy it, shows you can't enjoy a game which doesn't hold your hand

That's what makes him a hipster...if people liking something so much causes him discomfort and results in him not being able to enjoy something...that's pretty much hipster material there lol. I agree though, it's his opinion but his reasoning is weak in my opinion.then again he might be just trying to "promote" indie-games by having them all in his top 4 spots. If that is the case then I think that's not too shabby. Skyrim doesn't exactly need promotion considering it's rolled in about half a billion dollars (crazy)..
I don't think it's necessary to degrade one thing to promote another...but that's just me.Renevent42He didn't degrade Skyrim.

Ok, he dismissed it because other people liked it (and the crappy interface)...and you suggested he did so to promote indie games. My point is, it's not necessary. You can promote indies without having to dismiss/degrade/whatever other games. It's kinda silly but not really a big deal.

I did not say he did not play Skyrim deliberately to promote indie titles. You're just reading into things which are not there. I simply stated he put indie games as his top 4, possibly as promotion. And then I made a comment about Skyrim not needing promoting as it's sold millions, it was basically a nochalent comment with no double meaning behind it. .
Dude get a life and stop trying to pick peoples minds over text on the internet. I was discussing the thread, not any one post in this thread. If I was adressing a certain post in this thread I would of quoted. If I was trying to say that he dismissed Skyrim because he wanted to promote indie titles, I would of typed that clearly in text.
ie " He's dismissing Skyrim so that he can promote Indie titles"
I did not say that, I simply stated Skyrim doesn't need promotion because it's sold millions. Don't read into things and don't be anal about things not worth being anal about, you're not as clever as you think.
Stop whining...your post wasn't clear and there was a misunderstanding...it's not a big deal. Read through the thread and look at your response in context to the conversation, not hard to see why there was a misunderstanding.
Just seeing Street Clean Simulator and Duke Nukem Forever on that list made me realize the guys is trolling hard. Miroku32
Maybe watch the video? Or if you're only reading the description, then why miss the 'Thumbs up for arbitrary milestones that don't matter a damn bit!' right above the list?
People these days...
My personal game of the year is Dark Souls with Portal 2 close behind. I haven't played Bastion yet, but I did buy it in the Steam sale the other day. TOR is consuming my life though
My personal list:
1. Witcher 2
2. Bastion
3. Skyrim
4. Deus ExHR
5. Portal 2
6. Terraria
7. Dungeon Defenders
8. Dead Space 2
9. Dragon Age 2 (Yeah, thats right, i actually LIKED it)
10. Red Orchestra 2
Worst game of 2011: Saints row the third. Seriously, after absolutely loving Saints row 2 this ....was just terrible in comparison. Basically just watch Angryjoe's review.

Interesting, still have to play a lot of games from that list.
It's hard you know, to make an absolute list of the best games of 2011, there were just so many good ones, who had the time & money to play them all ? (unless it's your job ofcourse)
With that list he's trying too hard to be original.

What happened to Dragon Age 2 and Duke Nukem?
SR3 is, without exception, far better than both of those, for what they try to do.

For the question: What are you talking about? And no, SR3 isn't as good as SR2. The story was poorly written, the side activities were either bad or taken out, endings sucked, honestly felt like enemies were total bullet sponges, annoyingly linear story, etc.[QUOTE="Arthur96"][QUOTE="kris9031998"]

It is, for the price. Had it been, like, an indie game for 10 bucks sure it wouldnt be the WORST, but at full price with a 10 hour story and mediocre multiplayer, then adding in all the problems with it, it pretty much was the worst.Mine has to be...
1. Portal 2
2. Skyrim
3. Saints Row 3 (I didn't like 1 or 2 and this one blew me away)
4. Batman AC
5. Dead Island (coop only)
I couldn't list any other games, these were the only ones I liked this year enough to put on the list. I wish I could love Battlefield 3 but I don't want Origin, I don't like Battlelog, the maps suck but the Karkand pack and the Single Player is **** I also wished I loved SWTOR but it is just another WoW clone but this time with cutscenes you want to skip all the time.

And i didn't play it.I watch TB's videos from time to time and I like how frank he is about everything. Unfortunately, I'm not really into indie games at all (probably too spoiled by constant AAA releases to bother with them), but he is rather insightful at times.
As for me:
1. Catherine
2. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
3. The Witcher 2
4. Portal 2
5. LA Noire
6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
7. Battlefield 3
8. Total War: Shogun 2
9. Duke Nukem Forever (Yes, I liked it.)
10. FEAR 3
