I watch TB's videos from time to time and I like how frank he is about everything. Unfortunately, I'm not really into indie games at all (probably too spoiled by constant AAA releases to bother with them), but he is rather insightful at times.
As for me:
1. Catherine
2. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
3. The Witcher 2
4. Portal 2
5. LA Noire
6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
7. Battlefield 3
8. Total War: Shogun 2
9. Duke Nukem Forever (Yes, I liked it.)
10. FEAR 3
The_Capitalist
If that's your #9 and 10 than I would say look more into indie games.
Games like Trine 2 or Limbo absolutely destroy those two games.
[QUOTE="Arthur96"][QUOTE="kris9031998"]
My personal list:
1. Witcher 2
2. Bastion
3. Skyrim
4. Deus ExHR
5. Portal 2
6. Terraria
7. Dungeon Defenders
8. Dead Space 2
9. Dragon Age 2 (Yeah, thats right, i actually LIKED it)
10. Red Orchestra 2
Worst game of 2011: Saints row the third. Seriously, after absolutely loving Saints row 2 this ....was just terrible in comparison. Basically just watch Angryjoe's review.

What happened to Dragon Age 2 and Duke Nukem?
SR3 is, without exception, far better than both of those, for what they try to do.
For the question: What are you talking about? And no, SR3 isn't as good as SR2. The story was poorly written, the side activities were either bad or taken out, endings sucked, honestly felt like enemies were total bullet sponges, annoyingly linear story, etc. The enemies that are bullet sponges are clearly suppose to be, no idea about the story since I've only been roaming around having fun playing it the proper way, as a sandbox game(only at 35% completion with 20+ hours played) :P It's easily the strongest crime based sandbox game thus far gameplay wise, for example you won't be deforming golf carts being driven by furries in real time under your tank treads in games like GTAIV or Crackdown 2. It doesn't surpass RF3:G or JC2 gameplay wise, but those aren't just the strongest sandbox games, but the strongest games in any genre gameplay wise so this wouldn't be expected. SR3 has its flaws such as less customization options than SR2 and scatterbrained story telling, however improvements at the core such as the vehicle handling, vehicle deformation, tightness of controls, art direction, etc. are enough to put it at the top of the crime sandbox genre.Who is this person? Why should I care what he says?GooeykatHe is a man on the internet who has a pleasing voice and can articulate his speech fairly well. Therefore he has become one of the more trafficked youtube channels for gaming
I really cant stand TotalBiscuit, he trys to hard. And no one in England talks like that, he really forces his accent.V4LENT1NEIt's called a Yorkshire accent, not trying too hard. Plenty of people have a Yorkshire accent.
Good list but it seems like he's trying to be different to everyone else by leaving out the big games. I mean to not even have Batman there? I like the guy but it seems like the "oh look at me im different and that's why im cool" kind of list
He just never played Batman. I dont really see the need to put the big games, all it does is attempt to make the list feel complete as opposed to a modest list of the 10 games that you enjoyed the most.Good list but it seems like he's trying to be different to everyone else by leaving out the big games. Im not saying to put them in because they're big games im saying put them in because they're actually good. Something like The Witcher 2 or Batman deserves to be there. But if he didn't play them that's understandeable

Everyone has their own opinion. Not everyone likes supposedly 'unquestionably great games'.
As far as I know, he hasn't invested enough time into Batman to construct any sort of opinion on it, however as for Witcher, I do not know.
That was painful to watch. What a god awful top 10 list. Bastion best game of the year?
HAHAHA OH GOD what a hipster.
Soundtrack of the year, maybe. But best game of the year? Hell no.
I don't agree with his tastes, or possibly his motives behind dismissing bigger budget games. For example, Nation Red is a terribly clunky game. I guess that's why opinions exist; so that people can disagree. Especially on the interweb.guynamedbilly
I don't see how. Where did you get Nation Red from though? It's not on his list.

Yeah because as soon as you deviate from the norm you are instantly a hipster.
Not trying to defend him, but this word is thrown around so much on these forums that it lost all meaning.

I know that and I have no doubt its how he talks I just think he exaggerates its a bit and trys to hard.Considering the fact that I've never posted on these forums or had the desire to lurk around, forgive me for being surprised at people using the term "hipster" in any sense. That has to be the most ridiculous insult I've ever heard/seen. People actually use it? I thought it died years ago. Whatever. As for the list, did anyone not listen and comprehend what he was saying? Are some of you truly that stupid? He specifically said that in order for a game to be on this list he has to enjoy it immensely. It's not a list where he unbiasedly looks at all the games and chooses which ones were the best. It's which ones where he had the most fun playing. Not everyone has the same tastes in video games in case some of you guys didn't know. By the way, the number one game on the list makes Skyrim look(and sound) garbage. I love Bethesda by the way. Those guys are incredible(aside from the glitches they let past the testing phase). Bastion is impressive in most facets of gaming. It has the only soundtrack I've ever bought or even downloaded. The Narrator absolutely takes the game above and beyond. And the gameplay is actually pretty good and has more depth than most people would think. It's one of those games that will stand the test of time. Skyrim won't.DoctorSherlock
Agreed.
Fanboys don't know the definition of a very special word.
Or he just enjoyed them the most? That's what the 'top games' are established as being.then again he might be just trying to "promote" indie-games by having them all in his top 4 spots. If that is the case then I think that's not too shabby. Skyrim doesn't exactly need promotion considering it's rolled in about half a billion dollars (crazy)..
ShimmerMan
He points it out because of the inevitable mass response. What better then provide a response in the video then leave people sending a barrage of emails and complaining about his opinion.Ok, he dismissed it because other people liked it (and the crappy interface)...and you suggested he did so to promote indie games. My point is, it's not necessary. You can promote indies without having to dismiss/degrade/whatever other games. It's kinda silly but not really a big deal.
Renevent42
I know that and I have no doubt its how he talks I just think he exaggerates its a bit and trys to hard.V4LENT1NE'Tries to hard' So to be better, try less? Just wow, isn't the internet a wonderful place.

Especially when a person can gush about triple A games alongside independent. Some people like certain games more then you do and have reasons for it. Oh no, watchout.
You missed the 'game I liked the most' Behold, the inability to process the premis of a basic youtube video and juvenile name calling because they disagree with what someone else likes. Bright. That was painful to watch. What a god awful top 10 list. Bastion best game of the year?

It's kind of stupid to actually say that Skyrim isn't the best game of the year. And it's also kind of creepy how angry neckbeards on the internet get about the game. Am I allowed to say that?

Skyrim isn't the best game of the year.
There, I said that.
In all honesty, I believe that any game that is released as a shi*ty port has no place in the GOTY spot for PC.
It's not stupid to say it. It's actually one of the most logical things to say. As for "neckbeards". Yes, that's almost as bad as "hipster". I swear, can you guys go with something that doesn't sound ridiculous? Like, oh I don't know, maybe "idiot". That's simple enough for you. It's kind of stupid to actually say that Skyrim isn't the best game of the year. And it's also kind of creepy how angry neckbeards on the internet get about the game. Bastion is a very special game I have to agree. Unlike other great titles we've seen ( like Skyrim, which I LOVE btw ) it was really refreshining. Bastion is something I really like to talk about to gamers at work because it's just so unique. Ive convinced multiple people to go out and try it and they all seriously loved it.
As for the list, I can't say that mine would look like that but it's a very genuine list it seems. He posted the games he loved and that's what it should be.
All this hate and drama because TH posted a list on youtube...

Skyrim is absolutely the best game of the year. It's probably the most enjoyable game I've played in several years, to be honest.
