TotalBiscuit's Top 10 Games of 2011!

I would have chosen Portal 2 over Bastion myself, but Bastion is a really good game. Indie games are finally getting to the point of being able to compete with mainstream games.

I watch TB's videos from time to time and I like how frank he is about everything. Unfortunately, I'm not really into indie games at all (probably too spoiled by constant AAA releases to bother with them), but he is rather insightful at times.

6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

7. Battlefield 3

8. Total War: Shogun 2

9. Duke Nukem Forever (Yes, I liked it.)

If that's your #9 and 10 than I would say look more into indie games.

Games like Trine 2 or Limbo absolutely destroy those two games.

Good list but it seems like he's trying to be different to everyone else by leaving out the big games. I mean to not even have Batman there? I like the guy but it seems like the "oh look at me im different and that's why im cool" kind of list

Im not saying to put them in because they're big games im saying put them in because they're actually good. Something like The Witcher 2 or Batman deserves to be there. But if he didn't play them that's understandeable

Everyone has their own opinion. Not everyone likes supposedly 'unquestionably great games'.

As far as I know, he hasn't invested enough time into Batman to construct any sort of opinion on it, however as for Witcher, I do not know.

I wouldn't call it terrible, it was just nothing new. Didn't have much going for it.

I follow him quite a lot, but the way you said that sort of suggested that he had it on his list, which would be bizarre, seeing as it came out in 2009.

Considering the fact that I've never posted on these forums or had the desire to lurk around, forgive me for being surprised at people using the term "hipster" in any sense. That has to be the most ridiculous insult I've ever heard/seen. People actually use it? I thought it died years ago. Whatever. As for the list, did anyone not listen and comprehend what he was saying? Are some of you truly that stupid? He specifically said that in order for a game to be on this list he has to enjoy it immensely. It's not a list where he unbiasedly looks at all the games and chooses which ones were the best. It's which ones where he had the most fun playing. Not everyone has the same tastes in video games in case some of you guys didn't know. By the way, the number one game on the list makes Skyrim look(and sound) garbage. I love Bethesda by the way. Those guys are incredible(aside from the glitches they let past the testing phase). Bastion is impressive in most facets of gaming. It has the only soundtrack I've ever bought or even downloaded. The Narrator absolutely takes the game above and beyond. And the gameplay is actually pretty good and has more depth than most people would think. It's one of those games that will stand the test of time. Skyrim won't.DoctorSherlock

then again he might be just trying to "promote" indie-games by having them all in his top 4 spots. If that is the case then I think that's not too shabby. Skyrim doesn't exactly need promotion considering it's rolled in about half a billion dollars (crazy)..

Ok, he dismissed it because other people liked it (and the crappy interface)...and you suggested he did so to promote indie games. My point is, it's not necessary. You can promote indies without having to dismiss/degrade/whatever other games. It's kinda silly but not really a big deal.

In all honesty, I believe that any game that is released as a shi*ty port has no place in the GOTY spot for PC.

Bastion is a very special game I have to agree. Unlike other great titles we've seen ( like Skyrim, which I LOVE btw ) it was really refreshining. Bastion is something I really like to talk about to gamers at work because it's just so unique. Ive convinced multiple people to go out and try it and they all seriously loved it.

As for the list, I can't say that mine would look like that but it's a very genuine list it seems. He posted the games he loved and that's what it should be.

Skyrim is absolutely the best game of the year. It's probably the most enjoyable game I've played in several years, to be honest.
