[QUOTE="FelipeInside"][QUOTE="Kell_the_Gamer"] Its having the problem all linear MMOs have now: Low level areas are dead because everyone is at level cap doing whatever the latest thing is. You need more than achievements to get people to keep going back to lower level content. In Runescape (the only sandbox-ish MMO, I played for what it's worth) progression wasn't a straight line, so you saw plenty of people in plenty of areas because quests/dailies/etc/ require going back and fourth all other the place and there many areas had a mix of high and low level content. This seems like it is going be an innate problem with linear MMOs unless someone can come up with a system that would make people want to go back to lowerlevel zones regularly. Maroxad

WOW tried that with Cataclysm, revamped all the lower areas. Don't know if it worked or not. (I didn't play it)

Not even GW2 with its upscaled reward makes people wanna go back to low level areas. This is because low level areas still dont reward high level characters enough, and that design choice so that materials only appear for the tier they are designed for. Which is awfully gamey, and really does a good job making sure that you are a prisoner of your level.

Wy would you go into low level areas expecting a decent reward? It would be silly easy to farm karma and money that way because you're one shotting everything in sight. Personally I still visit these areas because I have a very large guild with people of all levels and I enjoy exploring with them and having fun with the social aspect.

I don't, nobody does.

But since, the time investment isnt really up to par when it comes to rewards. Most people prefer the bleak, dull, poorly designed Orr over other areas simply because it rewards better.

My main attraction in GW2 is WvW. Couldnt care less for gear, in fact. The lack of a gear treadmill along with the lack of a holy trinity are my main reasons for playing GW2.

Just started up gw2 again and still find it fun but have noticed a decrease in players in the 40's zones. Getting the feeling i won't be able to do Zone events anymore due to low population but still a great game.

GW2 still satisfies my MMO needs. Note that i don't pvp so don't know how that is affected.

you can always try to shout in map chat if an event is giving you trouble.

Also, people who want 100% map completion haved to go back to these low level zones and complete the quests there

That too, and I find it really fun to go into new areas despite the level number.
