I really don't want my PC anymore. I only use it for music and watching TV shows/movies, but I can just do that with my Macbook. The specs are underneath. Earlier I posted and people said asking for around 500 dollars is reasonable. I did that on Craigslist, but only one person has contacted me, and he was trying for 400 dollars. I thought that was maybe too low, so said no. Is there anything I can do on Craigslist to make it more attractive? I already have pictures up of the interior. Should I drop the price?

Case: Cooler Master RC-690-KKN1-GP Black
Memory: G.Skill 4GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
DVD Drive/Burner: LG Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R
Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro
PSU: CORSAIR 550W
Video Card: Radeon HD 4870 512MB
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB

Would it be easier to just sell the parts individually?

Just keep spamming craigslist, a lot of stuff gets lost among the other listings. Im not sure how much that rig is worth, but thats a lot of money and people aren't comfortable trusting a stranger unless its a good deal.

Agree with albi completely. When I go on craigslist, I think "Why is this person selling, and what are the possible flaws in what they are selling." There is no way I would buy a computer on craigslist, especially since there are plenty of stolen rigs, scams, and broker products. If I were you I probably would have taken $400 for it, considering it's only $100 less then asking price, which I never pay. If you want $500, you would want to list for $600 (which I don't think you could get)

Hmm, alright. That's good to know. Looks like I corresponded with him March 18th. That's probably too long ago to try and contact him again. I'll try reposting it every day, so I can keep it near the top of the listings.

I literally just sold a brand new build with similar specs for like $350. The case was a Xclio a380plus with a thermalright ultima 90 with 2 panaflo 92mm fans. A 640GB WD Black and 4GB ocz 1066 with the giant heatpipes and a Ocz 750w psu. It also had a clean install of Windows 7 Ult as well. I would say $400 is a decent amount for your pc if its used. Try dropping the price to $450 to see if you get an nibles on it.

Going to have to agree with others on this one. Your probably going to have to go for $400-$450. LGA 775 is old now compared to AM3 and LGA 1156/1366 especially when most PCs are getting Trip or Quad cores now.

Both the graphics and CPU technologies just underwent a tech change, so you're not going to get a great price for that rig. I'd go to Walmart and see what their cheapest desktop is and then seriously under cut that price. Or just keep it since it's probably more powerful than your macbook.

add a tag section at the bottom of the ad (alienware, xbox, ps3... etc) so your pc shows up on more searches. make sure you have a pic, especially if it i has led lights. people love those and they don't even care about the rest of the specs when they see them.

400 to 500 would be tops on Craigslist...but again there is always someone ...you might have to wait. I sold my old e6700@2.6, 4 gig DDR 2, 8800 GTX, Win 7 64 rig for 450 bucks on Craigslist. But I made a special point of pointing out it would be fresh install of Win 7 64 Professional upon purchase ( Retail disc included ).....this left me the ability to show prospective buyers actual game play ( FPS etc) and other goodies ( on my current OS setup) before they decided.. Also made a point of any recent upgrades and the fact it had been recently cleaned and dusted. As soon as I had the cash in my hand I did a complete reformat and reinstalled WIn 7 ( I also used a program that erases HDs completely ) The buyer came back in an hour and entered his info ( Just enough to get it up and running )...and then took it home. I also made a list of what drivers and software he would need and where to get them etc. By the time he left I could have sold it for a thousand.! Or at least more then what I got... There's someone for something out there somewhere.....

Craigslist is tough.. But I wouldn't take less than $450 for that rig, even with everything used. I would keep spamming it up on Craigslist for another couple of weeks to see if you can get what you want there, and then throw it on Ebay if you can.
