There's a bunch of 1.3 TVs out there
I can't imagine 1.3 being all that helpful to TVs. Sure it gives deep color, but from what I heard it's mostly a marketing gimmick since we'll probably never see deep color on either HD format, thus making such claims kind of useless. The PS3 may be capable of deep color, but don't expect it to be mainstream.Kodai_kun
Sure we could see it on BluRay or whatever. Any player with HDMI 1.3 could pass it.
Personally I think it's more important for passing the new audio codecs
Yeah, HDMI 1.3 does nothing that you will just stop and say, "WOW" over. It basically makes it so that the TV can produce natural shades of off-colors. Like there is no need to mix red and blue to make purple, it can naturally produce purple. There is no reason to mix red and orange and yellow to make macaroni and cheese, because it can make it naturally ( :P ) the guys at AVS will claim to notice, but I doubt their sincerity on MANY things nowadays.
Audio is the big feature. Dolby's TrueHD 7.1 etc. etc. etc. lossless whosawhatsit majigger sounds utterly orgasmic. That simple. If you think 5.1 sounded good wait until you watch a blu-ray with 7.1.
That being said, also, there is a problem with HDMI 1.3 and that is that every single component of a connection must be HDMI 1.3 compliant for it to work. That includes the cord itself to my knowledge. So if you have a PS3 hooked up to the HDMI 1.3 Samsung LNT-4665F you won't be getting HDMI 1.3.
