Ubisoft's great new DRM cracked, omg!

Unbeleivable but not unexpected tbh. Well known scene group Skidrow have released Silent Hunter 5 Battle of the Atlantic fully cracked and with the new day one patch included. Now how much money did Ubi spend on this? They were asking for trouble when they said their DRM would take a while to be cracked. I wonder how many people who buy the game will use this crack so they dont have to be connected to Ubisoft all the time?

Are pirates providing a better service than most reputable industries? I believe Gabe (Valve) said something along those lines. This game isin't for me tbh, but i will be buying AC2 (held of buying the console versions). When there will be a crack for it, i might be tempted to use it.

Scene groups should be hired by the industry. They're simply brilliant.

Has there ever even been copy protection that hasn't been cracked? I really don't see the point, the only thing copy protection is preventing is my money from going into their pocket.

Makes no sense, if the DRM is cracked, how come we don't have AC2 out on the illegal scene then? Only some lame Russian iso. I'm not convinced the DRM is cracked.

The DRM is slighty different for each game, since it's directly related to the savegame ability. Also, maybe Skidrow didn't get a copy of AC2 yet. These groups don't release localised versions.

When AC2 comes out i will buy it, but i will be very tempted to use a crack because i dont understand why i have to be connected to Ubi at all times! I have Steam and thats enough for me.ducati101

Pirates have better gaming experiences when it comes to not needing the disc to play, not having to be online to play your game, no need for 3rd party software to run the game aka Tages or SecuRom.

I download cracked .exes for games that I purchase because I hate DRM so much.

Just buy it on console, I bought it on 360 and it runs/looks great.

i love it when these things happen. **** these companies for enforcing these bs on us. pirates are always going to crack your game. is there even a game that hasnt been cracked? just give up and pray that people like your game. youre just wasting money developing these DRM prevention methods.

actually niche games, Rise of Flight for one, don't always get cracked. high profile games, however, are like trpohies for crackers...

So what now...Will Ubisoft remove the DRM for SC Conviction or other upcoming PC games or what?

Its obvious that there will be so many problems with that connection saving system that they should just drop the main idea completly if they wanna sell. Judging by the first game, assasin creed saves all the time. Checkpoint, autosaves and collecting items saving. I will not contrubite in this crap, i will buy the console version.
