Unreal Tournament 3 Recommended?

I was wondering if anyone has played this game. I recently rejoined the broadband world after a hiatus of 5 years. I used to love Unreal Tournament (original) and UT2003 too.

Is UT3 any good?

Unreal Tournament 3 is a decent game. Gametypes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, One-on-One, Capture the Flag, Vehicle CTF, and Warfare. The new Warfare game type has a lot of variety and is amazing fun to play. Some of the new vehicles, like the Darkwalker, are very cool and a lot of fun to drive.

On the downside, the entire game was built around the single player campaign. Due to that a number of the enviomental themes are gone. The campaign itself is nothing more that an eight hour tutorial. This is purely a matter of personal taste but I think they use the new Necris theme way too much. Warfare seems to made up of things from older game types (Onslaught, Domination, Assult, and Bombing Run). As a result none of those older gametypes are available. Its the buggiest UT title too. Make sure you get all the patches.

Overall UT3 is a slick, stylish, and visually stunning game that ultimately offers less then the pervious titles.

It's a good game (judging from the demo) but feels like it's lacking something...

To be honest, old school deathmatch games don't sit well with me anymore.

I didnt get UT 3 for the multiplayer. It was very enjoyable. The graphics of the Krall were amazing.

There is a demo you could play to try it out.

I decided to download the game from Steam last night. Heck, it is only $19.99!

Steam is certainly a great experience!

go to the VCT(vechicle capture the flag) and suspense map, online, and thats where the game really shines like a bastard. maybe you'll even see me! also, look for games with about 10 players, thats the best size(from a lot of expierence)
