I want to be able to play sports games, crysis, battlefield 1942, 2, 2142, call of duty 1,2,4, Test Drive Unlimited, ceasar 4, metal of honor allied assult, pacific assult, Obiivion, Microsoft moster truck maddness, lego island, mechwaror 4, and some game in the future my monitor is 1280 1024 I like to play my game on high settings ot max but with this res.

qustions that I have

1. worried about the card overheating!

2. how not keep my motherboard safe

3. telling me father that doing videocard upgrades wont kill my system!

Definitely no need for an all-new system, but more detailed specs would help, specifically how much RAM you have.

1: Fairly unlikely, unless you put a fanless graphics card in a poorly-ventilated case.

2: Ground yourself while installing the card, and try to avoid bumping any components.

3: Up to you, not me.

4: The 7900GT isn't a bad card, but you should probably shop around and read some benchmarks before marrying the card. Also consider your budget, power supply, and the rest of your rig.

1. worried about the card overheating!

Unlikely to happen

2. how not keep my motherboard safe

Ground yourself/wear a anti-static bracelet/keep touching the case

3. telling me father that doing videocard upgrades wont kill my system!

Tell him he can buy the new PC otherwise your going to upgrade.

4. what video card do I really need?

As said above. Also please tell me your RAM

how much ram you got? your cpu is fine for new games and a x1950 pro would give you great performance for much less than a new system would cost
